[Rumor] American Express Platinum To Add $300 Lululemon & $400 Resy Credit

There is a rumor circulating that the American Express Platinum will add two new credits:

  • $300 in Lululemon credits ($75 per quarter)
  • $400 in Resy credits

American Express already leaked that the Platinum card will have a new $600 FHR credit ($300 semi annual). There has also been rumors that the Platinum annual fee will increase to $895 and have a mirror finish. I suspect the Lululemon & Resy credits would replace Saks and Equinox credits, but that is just speculation on my part. These new credits with the FHR credit would turn this into a keeper card for me assuming the $895 annual fee is accurate, hopefully it launches with a large sign up bonus/no lifetime language

I live in one of the wealthiest areas of the country but the Resy options are shit.

I don’t want to drive 40 minutes to spend my $100 Resy credit at a San Jose taqueria. Alternatively, I can spend 50 minutes getting to a SF Resy location, but it’s not exactly convenient.

There are also weirdly more options in Marin than in Napa/Sonoma. Can’t wait to stop in Kentfield to burn the Resy credit.

Meanwhile, the CSR dining credit works at all the go-to special occasion places in Silicon Valley: Selby’s, Woodside Pub, Plumed Horse. Even Chez TJ’s if you like lighting money on fire.

SMH Amex.

These are finally useful credits for me cause Equinox credits have been sitting dormant for me for 3 years. I have zero use for it… But still, insanity of the coupon book style wrap up. $75 per quarter is awful. If they do that with Resy too…

Overpriced polyester garbage that shouldn’t touch your skin, much less heat up and sweat in

Wish they would just make the card more expensive, so the lounges would be less crowded… there’s nothing elite about credits.

thats def the plan. amex is not stupid. theyre playing the long game. slow rollout. amex had 5/24, PUJ, lifetime SUB, card offers, founders of the coupon book and airport lounges way before chase.

amex plat will def be over $1k AF in a few years and cent lounges just put back beef. hopefully this means glory days of cent lounge.

looks like they are letting chase bleed money first. all banks know fancy lounges for plebs is not sustainable. thats why DL made huge lounge cuts back in 2023, but pitchforks came out. so cat is out. we know where this is going.

higher AF. more lounge restrictions. no more unlimited visits unless $75k spend. etc.

I agree that many of these new credits, if true, are not necessarily helpful to some of us as card members; however, you can express those sentiments without violating the comment rules.

You did ‘check the box’ before posting. Recall “Be respectful: Avoid insults, personal attacks, and offensive language. Homophobia, racism, sexism, antisemitic comments are all strictly banned.“

Your comment likely violates two of the rules:
1. Offensive language. (F-word. S-word.)
2. Sexism. (You imply that you will make women do the thing(s) you don’t want to do.)

Had to remind someone who went by ‘andy’ on here before, as well as on another Amex post; some will choose to ‘shoot the messenger,’ which is also a shame. C’mon folks, we can do better.

Here’s hoping that the Lululemon credits work at the cafes inside the flagship stores.

You mean there’s anyone who’d buy a Lulu gift card from you for cash at face value?????

Dr.plantain wants $100-200 for $300 worth of GCs. How are you reading it as ‘face value’?
