According to a reliable source Capital One is planning a few things:
- New credit card products
- Increased sign up bonuses across a number of different cards
At this stage details are scarce but the new products makes sense after Capital One discontinued the Capital One Savor card. These are both expected within a month or two.
I received a mail offer today for the Venture X, which is part of the new offers that had been rumored.
Earn 90,000 bonus miles after $6,000 spend within 6 months. Travel credit, other benefits, and card design appear the same.
Any new updates on this? I’ve been holding off on applying for a Savor One card in hopes to see something surface on this front.
I have both the Quicksilver which is my oldest card and the Savorone card. They’re both low limit cards. I also have the Performance 360 Savings account.
In spite of being a customer this is the first I heard about them going to close out Savor which I’ve held a couple years at the same time they’re putting new cards in their lineup.
Never get approved by cap1 but their cards arent that great for signup bonuses anway so i gave up. also otheir business cards report on personal credit report.
I’ve been with C1 for some time and everything seems to be just fine. Yes it’s a higher interest rate but it doesn’t matter if you pay off the entire balance each billing period like I do. Basically zero interest, and C1 raises my card limit when they do their 8 month reviews. Their App is simple and works perfectly.
Basically irrelevant since they deny people with perfect credit who are actually trying to get those bonuses.
I have 3 Capital One cards, including Venture X, and my credit score is always in the 750-800 range. Here’s what I’ve done:
Good info.
Agreed. When applying need to click the buttons for 1) plan to carry a balance and 2) plan to transfer debt to new credit card. I have been denied by C1 for 1) under utilizing my credit 2) have too many credit cards 3) applied for a credit card within 6 months, 4) not using my C1VX more often. I should consider getting C1 and Chase banking and savings accounts for SUBs and building relationship.
I’m not going to carry a balance tho
I have three C1 cards I got instant approval for on all of them. 830+ credit score. Not sure where the “Capital One never approves anyone” rumor came from, but me and my 7 friends who are into points and miles all have at least one CapOne and nobody ever had to ask for reconsideration.
Cap One probably does a better job of weeding out churners compared to other lender
I have 3 C1 cards, haven’t been under 800 in 20 years. Never carried a balance in my life. I do have above average monthly spend though. Never banked with them. Never had to product change.
Some of C One offers are just a HOAX
Everytime I log into my account on thier website a personal offer pops that syas:
Your Quick Silver SUB has now increased from $200 to $300 but when I click on it trying to apply, it says: The specified URL cannot be found !!
Then why it is popping into my sign-in page every single freaking time ????
lol yes the quicksilver $300 offer is fake. they sent a ton of mailers to my neighborhood a few months back and only a few could apply and they all got rejected.
Sounds like someone is testing with vaporware…
Will they STOP pulling all THREE Credit bureaus? Until then..
bro just freeze 2 of them lmao. last few times I got a C1 card i just kept experian and equifax frozen, and they only pulled transunion and got approved
That is a new info. They have been known to approve with 1 report frozen (EX or TU), but they needed 2 un-frozen (and one of them had to be EQ)… your DP is quite new.
One the other hand… very few would care about the EQ hard pull, as rarely any bank (at least in my state) uses it to begin with. So TU and EQ pulls were OK for C1 apps… but still, good info! Thanks.
This is not really new info:
22 Things Everybody Should Know About Capital One Credit Cards, Feb 9, 2016
Venture X sucks, Capital One sucks.
Crappy ecosystem, crappy rewards structures, inferior everything. And oh yeah, horrendous customer service to boot.
Until they make their rewards actually worth something, I’ll pass on whatever the heck they try to hawk.
*currently sitting on 300k C1 points…they are genuinely useless, I have found zero use for them. Will simply cancel card*
If they’re so useless, feel free to cash them out and zelle me the $$
+100
I will take them!
Apply those pts as a statement credit
just admit you don’t know how to use transferable points
Yeah this is the God’s honest truth right here.
You’ll pass on whatever they try to Hawk To Ya…..
Use Purchase Eraser feature to cover your expenses and pay yourself back. Perhaps you prefer Chase trifecta and BILT Rewards MasterCard for their customer services. AMEX Plat has excellent customer support but is rejected outside the USA by local merchants, boutique hotels, and small businesses.
It’s clear you don’t know what you’re doing. How about giving me your points since you seem to hate CapOne so much. Rob Rob
Why would you rack up 300k points if you can’t find a use for them? This is like signing up for 4 Hilton cards and complaining the points are useless because you want to stay at Marriotts.
What are you on? CapOne’s customer service blows all the other banks out of the water. Whenever I call them I get instant pick up and don’t even have to nav a phone tree. They have the most straightforward and bug-free banking app I’ve ever used. I won’t even sign up for other credit cards since I don’t want to deal with terrible bank apps. I get about $600 in rewards every year.
Hope that they relax the rules. I’m at 4/24 and 0/6 and been a CapOne savings account holder for 10 years and a former Venture cardholder. I still am not pre-approved for the Venture (yes, want it again) or the normal Savor card. Quite silly.
Wasn’t the normal Savor card just discontinued?
C1 Savor not SavorOne discontinued. Had to spend at least $10K in entertainment category per year to be worth having Savor over SavorOne.
