Looks like we have another rumor surrounding a new premium business card from Chase.
- 150,000 point sign up bonus with $15,000 in spend
- To compete with the American Express Business Platinum and be the business version of Sapphire Reserve
- Benefits include $400 travel credit
- Annual fee of ~$700
- New color scheme of navy blue and gold
- Part of project Emerald / Halo / Palm
- Slated for 2025 March rollout
The reader that shared this rumor has provided accurate rumors in the past, but as always no guarantees.
So far the only thing I see similar is the annual fee which is concerning if they’re going to jack up the CSR fee. I know most won’t care for the travel credit but like someone else pointed out it can actually be pretty useful if you have a lot of uber rides to/from airports.
The AmEx Business Plat comes with 35% back when using Amex points (which I don’t use) and that pretty much equates to the 1.5 modifier that Chase uses for the CSR. I assume Chase is going to keep the modifier at 1.5 for this one. If it becomes a 1.75 modifier (little closer to the Centurion’s 50% back) that would be pretty cool.
The other option is Chase somehow getting a deal with United to let Sapphire/Business Sapphire members into United lounges but without guests (i.e. United Club access but not a United Club membership).
Overall for a travel business sapphire card I’m not impressed with what I’m seeing thus far. I’m still pretty excited for more Chase mainline cards.
I do not see apost for the new offers for avios cards.

For churners, travel credits really aren’t worth the stated value. Most churners book travel through points and the opportunity cost of this $400 travel is something like 25k points. So you’re only getting $250 value out of this.
net $450 fee, 150k/$15k spend, maybe some other throw in things… I’m not super thrilled. Maybe because it’s Chase it’ll be enough, but idk.
Try paying a toll or booking an uber or paying for a subway/tram/local train/taxi/even most long distance trains with points at any decent value.
Or parking?
Yes, I use travel credit for my monthly parking fee. this fee cannot be avoided and must be paid.
When u book travel via points, do you not have to pay taxes???? One can certainly get the $400 value.
I consider chase travel credit at almost face value – use it to pay toll fees
My combo of CSP + CIP + RITZ benefits and points earning is serving me well, and is a better option than holding a CSR. Not sure what this new card can bring to me other than the SUP.
Can you elaborate on why this combo is better?
POINTS EARNING
3X Travel – CIP
3X Dining – CSP
3X Misc. Business Services – CIP (CSR has nothing in this category)
INSURANCE
Mobile Phone Protection – CIP
Primary Auto Rental – All 3 Cards
Trip Delay – RITZ (6 hour)
MISCELLANEOUS
Lounges – RITZ (highest Priority Pass membership and access to Sapphire Lounges)
Global Entry Reimbursement – RITZ
Marriott Gold Status – RITZ
Free Night (85K) – RITZ
Costs
CIP – $95 (mobile phone insurance covers cost easily)
CSP – $95 (two biannual 50 dollar hotel credits cover cost)
RITZ – $450 ($300 travel credit is easy to use and the 85K free night is easily worth the raining $150)
There are some additional reasons this trio is better than a CSR, but this gets the point across.
CORRECTION
COSTS
CIP – $95 (mobile phone insurance covers cost as providers charge anywhere from 6 to 15 bucks per month for similar insurance)
CSP – $95 (annual 50 dollar hotel credits cover half the cost, and InstaCart, GoPuff, and DashPass can cover costs too)
RITZ – $450 ($300 travel credit is easy to use and the 85K free night is easily worth the raining $150)
ALL CARDS – You get Chase Offers on 3 cards and not just on the CSR.
I am sure there are some additional reasons this cars trio is better than a CSR, but this gets the point across.
Are you aware the fee-free CFF also gives 3x dining?
FX fees. I use my Amex Gold for nearly all my dining in the states, but in many parts of the world Amex is not an option.
What’s the other benefits of the CSP in this trio that make it better than replacing it with the CFU?
No FX fees for a start and the CFU is 1.5 points on all purchase. In the states I use my Amex Blue Business for 2X MR points on everything and when overseas I use the Barclay Arrival because it has a pin system, which is used in a lot of places and now they have some airline transfer partners so it is really 2X points.
Light correction…. the Ritz gets you into most lounges that the CSR does.
The CSR gets you into the Sapphire Terrace in Austin, and into Maple Leaf lounges that the Ritz does not. So there is precedent for Chase having offerings that they do not extend to the Ritz.
It’s a small difference but I kept my CSR and my Ritz both and downgraded my CIP.
I’ve got like 10 days left to try and call for a retention bonus on the CSR but I doubt they’d give me anything at this point and I haven’t had time.
Given that the Ink Preferred was recently at $8k for 120k UR and the Ink Unlimited is currently at $6k for 90k UR, it’s a little odd that the sign-up for a new card wouldn’t also follow the 15x convention and go big for 225k after $15k but who am I to question the almighty Jamie Dimon?
I’d be surprised if a multiplier of the spend requirement is how they calculate the SUB.
This is exciting!
Here are my ideal benefits:
I’d switch 100% of my business spend!
The card you describe loses Chase money
I don’t think any of us are here to make the banks money.
No, but the banks aren’t in business to lose money. We play their games, so we’re not in power to call the shots here.
Maybe I’m misreading, but I don’t think anyone on this thread thinks they’re “in power to call the shots.” Alex gave a wish-list, then Craig pooh-poohed it because it would “lose Chase money,” as if making banks lose money were not the entire objective of our hobby.
Agreed. Alex gave a wish list. Depending on his dollar numbers and how he booked his hotels, he might mix and match a few existing cards to hit his targets. They are realistic and achievable.
Ok, I’ll just continue with Ink train which makes them money then.
Got more details to confirm that just the internal name is Palm. The card will be a Business Sapphire
Any update on the personal/Emerald side and/or if there is still some planned tie-in with CPC’s?
Given what the Ink Preferred is, one might wonder what exactly a business premium travel card would look like . . . other than to say it would be the business version of the CSR, which sorely needs a refresh. Which then begs the question of what a CSR refresh would look like. Take away Priority Pass and travel protections and a person might be better off with the $95 annual Citi Strata Premier, with a broader earning structure and a broader set of transfer partners.
The Ink Premier should have been the business premium travel card.
I’m sure you know what’s most useful for you, but I doubt many people would find Citi’s transfer partners to be anywhere remotely near as valuable as Chase’s. Their only plausibly useful hotel partner is Wyndham (and most people here only want that for Vacasa, which 99% of the general public has never heard of). Their airline partners are better, but all the most popular ones (B6, SQ, VS, AF, maybe more?) are partners of Chase, too, and they obviously don’t have any of Chase’s most popular airline partners (WN, AC, UA).
My comment states “for some.” Not just me. Not everyone. But, some people. That’s all I’m saying.
For some, Etihad is a valuable transfer partner. Not everyone. But, some people. Sometimes an Etihad booking is best done with its own points. Sometimes an AA booking is best done with Etihad points.
You stated that Citi’s only plausibly useful hotel partner is Wyndham. LHW and iPrefer can provide tremendous value — in some cases, superior to Hyatt redemption values. So, I would respectfully disagree.
I have not found Southwest or United to be high-value uses of points. Popular, sure. High value, no.
Best of luck.
Aren’t LHW points fixed-value @ 8 cents, meaning TY points are worth exactly $0.016 when transferred into the program (the same as WN, btw)?
And if you’ve honestly found iPrefer useful for anything besides points-plus-cash reservations, I’d love to know your secret.
Ink Premier points have restrictions like you cannot transfer them to partners, which is where the real value in UR points are IMO. I get huge value flying business class all over the world using points. Below is the Chase language on this.

Redeem your rewards for cash back, gift cards, travel and more through Chase Ultimate Rewards®.
Points earned with Ink Business Premier cannot be moved to other Chase cards or transferred to Chase Travel Partners
While one Chase Palm smacks you in the face, the other palm takes your $700…
Thats a perk! I usually have to beg for that.
I’d do it for you for half the price. lol
Oh great I’ll be off 5/24 then. Would be ok if they threw on a United status and better travel insurance
