The Offer
- Safeway is offering a JustForU coupon to get 10x on just about all third-party gift cards purchased from November 29 – December 3.
Presumably the same deal is at all the stores in the Safeway chain: Vons, Randall’s, Albertsons, Tom Thumb, Acme, Jewel, Shaw’s.
The Fine Print
- Excludes open loop cards (Visa/MC), Albertsons company’s own cards, fuel company, telecom, and general purpose reloadable debit cards.
- One offer per transactions.
- Gift card purchases must be made in a single transaction.
Our Verdict
10x on just about all third-party gift cards is pretty incredible. From what I can tell, this offer should work on Amazon gift cards too. Make sure to use a card that earns at a high rate on grocery store purchases.
Far as I can tell, this should stack with the $25 shopping voucher deal when you buy $150 in gift cards from brands like Lowe’s, Chipotle, Hotels.com, Gap, and more.
You can also get 15% off iTunes through 11/30, and I suppose that’ll stack with this 10x points offer. Just keep in mind the $500 purchase limitation on Best Buy, iTunes, Gamestop, and Google gift cards.

Worked on amazon GCs today at Vons. Good through 12/5 and multiple use per my app.
Stacked with $25 shopping voucher.
It’s there in the print version. I’m not sure if it means to exclude doing the deal more than once.
The coupon was unlimited use but they didn’t want people doing back to back to back transactions for reasons.
Couldn’t find in my app. Actually it showed up once then disappeared and can’t find it . Do have 8x Google play 10x dominoes. Is this in a print ad?
It was under special offers for me. But it is also in the ad with a barcode (see image in the original post) that you can use instead of clipping (at least according the ad). The ads were in abundance at my store entrances.
This offer is regional. I’m in Colorado. No luck here. If I change my preferred store to a Von’s in California or a Jewel in Illinois, I see the offer and can add it to my account. But still can’t redeem it at Safeway in Colorado. 🙁
I am wondering if there is a maximum on this deal if multiple GCs are allowed. Will 500*2 in one transaction work?
Confirming this worked, good for 500 points on a $50 Happy card.
Anybody had any success with Amazon GCs (or other brands) ? Also I not would buy more than ~100 per account if you plan to do only grocery shopping.
Why do you say that?
Tough to use a lot of the points for groceries, I think. As I understand, you cannot choose a given reward, say $10 off, more than once per months and the points do expire in a month.
Thanks for responding… if you buy the gift cards on December 1st, the points (rewards) won’t expire until January 31st.

So buying Home Depot gift card can get 10x + 10x reward points or just 10x?
Would get 18X. Since it’s stacking, it would only count the original 2x once.

Interestingly the Home Depot GCs actually get 20X points. Really amazing that a $100 HD GC will give you 20 Rewards which is worth $30 or more depending on how you use it. Too bad it’s not something to stock up since a $500 HD card gets 100 Rewards which is really hard spend in 2 months. Even if buying gas and filling up at least twice, I could not use more than $400 in HD GC with the rewards.

Anyone know if this promo works with Amex gcs? The terms exclude only exclude open loop visa/MC.
Highly doubt it since Amex GC doesn’t give points under normal circumstances so 10x zero would be zero.
