GC Galore points out some potential problems with this promotion, so I’d recommend reading that first and doing a test transaction. Still a fantastic deal if it works as advertised especially as it works on Amazon and other high value brands.

Data point- Did a bunch of $25 restaurant cards for $25 amounts. Some where 5x and some had specific 10x. I earned more then the 10/5 but not an extra 2x on all of them. No idea which retailer did what as there is no way to easily see your points broken out.
Earlier in the week disney did warn 5 + 2 in points.
There are 2 new 5x to clip today. One is for dining, the other retail. They both say dining though.
DP: Clipped the coupon and did a small test purchase as the GC Galore article suggested. Great advice. Only received 2X per normal. Will do another test purchase on Monday.
Anyone seen this yet on Shaw’s/Star Market (New England area)? Haven’t seen it show up yet in my account.

SYW Mastercard 15 percent cash back on groceries. 5 points from Safeway and also 2.5 cash back in-store Rakuten! LFG!!!!!
I value the %X points at 8.4% discount used as a $20 coupon. Combine that with a cash back card of 2-6 or more percent at grocery and this a solid deal for cards you never get a discount for (ie:disney, higher end restaurants, etc)
Is this Safeway only, or does it include Randall’s etc.?

Just go to staples buy the free visa gift cards ,and your set, need to buy something ,just use the gift cards.

1. 400 Membership Rewards, worth conservatively $6.
2. 5 Fuel points, worth (very conservatively) $7.50.
Total haul: $13.50
Buy $100 Amazon at office supply store with Ink Cash. Get:
1. 500 Ultimate Rewards, worth conservatively $7.50
Total haul: $7.50

Join a *private* chatroom that is hosted by any of the popular blogs. In such a chatroom, you will find non-public discussions/sharing of strategies. Such strategies are typically not shared on public sites for fear of being shut down. The same applies to Safeway. To answer your question “Am I wrong?”, for some, Safeway is not complicated and can yield far greater rewards than those shared here (and what you’re seeing at Staples). But, one *must* have access to a Safeway. Best of luck.

They sort of stack. They are additive. I got 13x pts on my Red Robin purchase. Standard 2x for GC, then 8x extra for Red Robin, then 3x extra for this 5x GC promo.
I purchased $50 Red Robin and got 650 points. So you are right. It is not 15x as expected.
