I wonder if the Happy Kid one would work at all Landry’s restaurants and not just Rainforest Cafe. That’s how Landry’s typically works, no matter what restaurant is on the gift card.

Can try, but I wouldn’t hold out hope… this isn’t a Landry’s GC, but a VISA. They’re probably using particular merchant IDs for allowing/disallowing

That’s true, I forgot they weren’t really GCs

Are these actual gift cards or are they prepaid cards? If there’s $1 left on these cards and I buy something for $5, will it automatically deduct $1 from the purchase and I can use a second method of payment or do I have to hope the merchant can do split transactions and accept $1 on this card and the rest on another card?

I believe this varies from merchant to merchant. when I go to kroger it will usually drain any prepaid cards automatically and deduct that from my total bill, but other places you may have to specify the amount and do a split tender transaction.
