Update 3/18/19: This lounge has now reopened.
Update 3/7/19: We now know that this lounge will be closed starting March 11th, 2019.
American Express just reopened the Las Vegas Centurion lounge, although the Miami lounge continues to be closed for expansion. The official centurion lounge website for Seattle-Tacoma has been updated and now clearly states:
The Seattle Centurion Lounge will be temporarily closed for a short period in March as we renovate and improve the space.
Given this is for renovation and not expansion I’d expect it to be closed for a week or so, but we don’t have exact details when in March it will be closed and for how long. The Priority Pass options aren’t great either, there are two ‘The Club’s’, one in Concourse A and the other in the South Satellite.
Damn, 4 days too late. I don’t fly much anymore, but the one time I did, it was closed. Boo! At least Dallas was open albeit underwhelming.
Not trying to sound nit-picky, but did you mean for the title to read: “Seattle American Express Centurion Lounge Has Now Reopened” ?
That’s what we have isn’t it?
Using Copy + Paste, my browser shows “Seattle American Centurion Lounge Has Now Reopened” …odd. Sorry to bother you if it is just my browser doing weird things.
Yes the lounge has reopened, I think I’m missing your point?
He is referring to the missing “Express.” Currently it is “American Centurion Lounge.”
Thanks, fixed now
Sorry for being vague.
thank you for your responsiveness and being a light to the points and miles community.
Great! Passing through SEA tomorrow.
When is LAX lounge open? Soon?
No set date, don’t think it’s anytime soon.
I was there yesterday and the bar tender told me that they were closing for a week.
Thanks
Awesone, right at the time I am on trip
FTU Seattle is this weekend (March 8-10), so glad to hear that the Centurion Lounge will be closed on March 11 🙂
The SEA Studio isn’t worth it. Since SEA is my home airport I canceled my platinum once the annual fee hit. If Amex expanded food offerings to provide me with an actual meal, I would sign up for my Platinum immediately
I find between a couple small plates of salad, a sandwich or pasta, soup, and a cookie that is fine to serve as a meal. Is it like a sit-down restaurant meal for free, no. (though sometimes it has the sit-down restaurant wait though!) But it’s pretty convenient for me, saves me $10 or so from another restaurant (or eating from the mcdonalds next to it).
But, not being based out of SEA, now that I can’t stop there while I wait for arriving friends, I’d get half as much use out of it (and last year was an atypically high number of trips), I’ll probably cancel this one too… After all, there’s other platinums in the sea.
I agree that the area is small, and the bar expansion didn’t really add that much space, but the view is nice.
I would like more food options as well, but I don’t think there’s enough space to add them.
Priority pass covers restaurants at some airports, SEA would be nice. I would never expect an actual meal out of a lounge, but i agree that this one is disappointing. More crowded than the security checkpoint, with all the food picked at. You could fit 4 of these into the main delta lounge.
I’ve noticed that the quality of food has improved the last few times I was there. The shepherd pie was really good, as was the yellow curry. Both of those were solid meals.
The SEA lounge is a disgrace compared to others. There is a particularly rude guy at check in that I avoid whenever possible.
