Early Account Termination Fee
I wasn’t able to find any early account termination fee in the fee schedule.
Our Verdict
Previously they offered a $100 referral bonus for both parties, but that required a direct deposit. I doubt we will see that offer return and unless you were getting a friend or family member to refer you then this $100 bonus is effectively the same but easier to meet the requirements for. Worth doing if you didn’t do the other bonus already, will add this to our best bank bonus page.

IHG Premier $250 funding coded as cash advance in March 24. William Charles you may want to update.
IHG Premier $249 funding coded as cash advance
Prepare for delays in membership app, misleading emails about multiple acceptable documents for i.d., and just an overall tedious intro to this CU.
William Charles Chuck The promo landing page is still live; however, the terms state “offer valid through 12/31/2023”. Can y’all please mark this as expired?
Done, thank you
Data point: Chase Ink Business Cash CC funding was treated as cash advance. This is my first time trying CC funding, so it was disappointing. Question: I currently have 0 APR promotion on this credit card so I am paying the minimum balance on it every month. But the APR on cash advance is 29.99% so I suppose I should pay it back ASAP to avoid interest accumulation. But if I make a payment of $250 for the cash advance, does the system automatically know it should be applied to the payment for the cash advance? Or do I need to pay off the whole balance including the previous purchases right away? This is the first time cash advance happened to me so I am not sure how this thing works. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
Just talked to Chase, they told me I can not just make a payment for the cash advance portion, payments would be split between the previous purchase balance and the cash advance balance, to avoid interest on the cash advance I would have to pay off the whole 6k balance I carry on the card. I then called Service CU to see if they can cancel the pending CC funding and they said they couldn’t, and even if they close my account right now the CC funding wouldn’t be canceled. Chase said they could not cancel the pending CC funding as well, and the representative was not sure whether a Cash Advance could be disputed as well. This is so annoying. If I have to carry the 29.99% APR on the $249 cash advance for one year the interest would be $75, plus the $30 cash advance fee it would be $105, even if I get the $100 bonus it hardly break even. But if I pay off the 6k 0 APR purchase balance right now I lose $300 interest on the 6k in a 5% high yield interest account (I have the 0APR promotion for almost one year from now).
Update: A few hours later the pending transactions changed to posted, and the transaction type changed from cash advance to sale. So as of now, Chase Ink Cash still works for CC funding at Service CU, despite it would show as CA while pending.
APRIL 4 2024 Both Chase Ink Visas are getting declined multiple times when trying to fund 250 or less. Service CU reps are no help.
Anyone knows how to enroll in estatement? can’t find the agree button in their website
I have the same question. Have you found the answer?
https://servicecu.org/statement/
All you do is accept the eCommunications agreement. If you are not seeing that, maybe you need to wait for it to appear (the next business day), or maybe they auto-enroll everyone now. I had my account for years.
Got it! Just logged in and accepted the eCommunications agreement. Thank you!
Just applied, the application went pending. They did pull chex, but no hard pull on credit.
What does reoccurring mean? A single DD of $300 for 2 consecutive months?
Yes.
Scumbags didnt pay out last iteration of this one after complaints and first time account. Screenshot and email didnt say recurring, and they claimed had to be. If you do this and they dont pay, dont waste your time unless willing to sue them and have documentation, they will waste your time with any complaint way more than the $100
Did you only complain to them? What did the terms actually say? If you have proof that supports your claim, you should file a complaint w the NCUA and BBB at the very least.
Yes did file ncua complaint. Email terms screenshotted said “a direct deposit”. No mention of recurring, they claimed must be recurring and didnt pay. These things negative value unless willing to sue, which even if win get paid zero for time.
If I was previously denied fotr Service CU (probably CHEX) a year ago.. is it worth it to give it another go with this one? Some of these banks seem to always reject once rejected once
You can look back on your own Chex history, make sure your count at 1-3-6 months is less than what you were previously, and then go with your gut. Occasionally I have got the approval months after getting a denial, but it’s very YMMV.
Hopefully, more and more DoC’ers will share their Chex stats when they get approved or denied. It has become much easier to track Chex stats with the Chex portal and OnAlert monitoring. LOL/24 stat providers are just as useless as someone just stating “Chex-sensitive” without the supporting info.
IIRC, it was previously suggested to have a DoC post on “how to provide a proper Chex DP”. William Charles
