this took far longer than it should have but ultimately I added my Advance Auto Parts account number e.g. 4270123456789 (427 + my cell phone number) at https://www.fuelrewards.com/fuelrewards/account-linked-info.html and now see $0.30/gal off through February 28th in my Fuel Rewards app
Is there any trick you can share? Or if your Advance Auto Parts number is new, how long did you wait before you could finally link it? Thanks.

back in the day shell 10% worked on preauthorization. I was getting $5 off $10 worth of gas total. Stacking P2’s card for another fill up as well…
I’m quite confused…are you talking about the Genius thing? If so…there’s a simple way to get around that. When they demand you sign up for Genius…just do it. That’s step one. Then…right after…they’ll send you a “welcome to Genius text”. Simply answer…”cancel Genius”. That’s it…I do it all the time. I also send them a DD…via Wise…every month. Yeah…it’s a couple of hoops…however…I do it for the cash back they offer. Have a blessed day.

…from the same link you had. I tried to link a new account with 427 + phone number and got the invalid card error that others reported last year so I’m not sure what the 1 +DP did. Oh well, maybe that’s not the right account number or maybe waiting is required.
Just did it right now. Had to wait maybe 10 mins for my phone number to register under a new account because first few attempts said invalid. My fuel rewards shows the 25cents discount.
After a couple of days of ‘invalid card’ errors, it finally worked today and I see the discount on top of the standard cents off.
Worked for me first try… already had a speed perks account with an old landline phone # listed. Put in 427 + phone number, it linked, and $.25 immediately usable along with the usual .03 discount.
