No mention of the fee? Not even worth churning..
The last time that I checked, SR charged a ridiculous $7.95 fee for a $200 gc.
With 500$ card and 6.95$ fee, 5x grocery bonus card gives only a 3.05$ real cash incentive, not worth
My local ShopRites only carry variable $200 visa/mc gift cards. The fee is outrageous $7.95.
as others have posted, it’s only a deal if you have the BCP by AMEX. 6% at grocery stores (unless you maxed out the 6k yearly limit and have to wait till Jan 1,2024. AMEX does have good signup bonuses on this card and no fee for the first year.
There is an AMEX offer for Shoprite that could probably be stacked with this. Likely not worth a trip for most.

The $10 off $50 in gift card purchases is way better,
Lately they have been doing more of the promos with all 3rd party gift cards eligible. That is a true 20% off deal plus BCP 6% = 26% off face for gift cards.
Bad deal… Don’t buy
Agreed that it is not as good as it could have been. However, I think this is as good as the no fee VGC/MGC deals at Staples if you have a 6x Amex BCP or similar. You are making $2 after the worst case 7.95 fee plus the points equivalent of at least $10. True that $10 in shopping credit is probably worth maybe $7 in real cash but if you watch for the deals you could make it close enough.
The $10 shopping credit is good only for the following week, so it’s effectively a way to get you back in the store.
yes but they usually have some good deals.
actually using the BCP gets you 9.47 back with the 157.95 spent. Then the 10.00 back on groceries next week, so my previous comment is wrong.
plus you need to keep the paper receipt to use the following week. As you stated..”bad deal” for just a 3.00 profit (if you have a BCP card). The 7.95 fee makes this one of the worst…
Bad Deal.. Don’t do it
ShopRite s in upstate NY..Putnam Co… I had 143.00 towards the 400.00 turkey giveaway this AM. Bought the 200.00 MCGC with 6.95 fee and 71.00 in groceries in same order. Got the free ” congrats you earned a free ShopRite turkey.” So the 200.00 MCGC with 6.95 fee counted. Went and got the free turkey. Added bonus… Got the 10.00 cert. for next week’s shopping. Have to save the receipt as the 10.00 is only on the paper receipt, not the price plus card.
Fee is up to 7.95 now….at least most SRs around me in NJ.
