Redemption period for the latest offer begins today through 10/19
strange experience today (new jersey), bought the $50 gc, and the $10 coupon printed as usual. but the cashier insisted on giving me a $10 shoprite gc, and told me that it is now the new way to redeem the coupon.
Interesting, but the cashier was probably incorrect. Yesterday, the coupon printed on the bottom (NJ) for me as in previous promos. They realize people may miss the redemption period, I’d think that’s part of the plan.
Success today with a variable amount $50 Depot GC. The terminal at the CS desk wasn’t taking Apple Pay(for a stack with the $5 off $50+ Amex Offer for using Apple Pay), but they suspended the transaction and ran it at the head register for self checkout and that terminal worked. Code/$10 off printed successfully on the receipt.
Yes you need to use diff cards to double up, I use mine and P2’s separate price plus cards/phone #s. Just don’t mix up the receipts when you redeem, and has to be separate $10+ transactions.
I also successfully used PayPal at self checkout for something else while I was there, for Chase 5% this quarter. Pick PayPal and scan the QR code. It failed at first, then I covered the regular barcode that shows up on the screen along with the QR code and it went through when I did that.
I noticed the “PayPal” option at SCU recently. Unfortunately, this is mostly useless due to the low Visa gc amounts that SR allows. Remember the days when they used to allow $500?
Coupon printed as usual this morning in NJ. Used BCP and headed to Shell for $1.55 off per gallon using Fuel rewards. Rinse repeat 🙂
Can I ask for your Fuel Rewards tip? Just a hint. 😉
Mostly VGC’s during 2x or 3x promos, also store gift cards on occasion.
theres a limit of one per price plus card account and its only valid 10/13-10/19 , the first time I bought the 50 dollar gift card a reciept printed out showing I can use 10 dollars between 10/13- 10/19 the second time i bought a 50 dollar gift card on the same price plus account the reciept did not hsow 10 dollars on it
Correct. Thanks for the data point. At least you dont lose anything, you still paid $50 for a $50 gift card. For people with multiple
Price Plus cards, I think you have to use the same card to redeem the $10 receipt coupon next week. (Don’t mix them up)
Paul, you need more than one price Plus card! Only available 1x per card. I assume most of us here have more than 1 card. You need another card. yes, the offer is only 1 per card. Their computer systems are really good. And you now need the same card to redeem. This is new. There is a code on the receipt but now it shows the redemption code (same number on all certificates,) BUT it now links that code to the Price Plus card. Something new.
Plan to stack with the Amex $5 off $50+ using Apple Pay, plus my base 6% on BCP, for a total of 36% off!
Chuck,
Can you add a note to the post that everyone should check their receipt for the $10 coupon before leaving the store? There seems to be the same issue as back in April when there was a programming error.
barrytuneup CardShark
I went to SR this morning and checked out the gc rack and was surprised to see Shell gc there as they hadn’t been in this store for months, if not years.
Due to this, I decided to try the promo myself. I went to CS and grabbed a Weekly Ad. While waiting for the customer in front of me to finish, I noticed a note on the counter about the mistake in the ad and that they meant to exclude SR gc rather than FW gc.
This was a relief and I decided not to bring it up. The cashier rang up my gc and I had my credit card in my hand. A moment later, she told me that she put it in as “cash” because she thought that I had cash (even though I clearly had my card in my hand).
Anyway, I looked at the receipt and saw that the $10 coupon DID NOT print out, which wasn’t a huge surprise. After several minutes, they charged my card and wrote the code on my receipt for the $10 off.
BTW, at one point before this was resolved, 1 of the women asked if I had cash. I simply answered “I’m not paying in cash”. Using my BCP gets me another $3 CB. 😉
So the bottom line is that if they don’t fix the programming, the coupon will likely not print out so be vigilant!
did not print out.
they refused to do anything
call the 800 number after 24 hours. They will add $10 credit to your account.
What’s insider account? Lol
Chuck,
I just looked at next week’s SR Weekly Ad and this promo is back. However, there are a few odd things that I noticed and they are below.
#1: It shows that Fairway gc are excluded in addition to the normal Visa & MC. Fairway is another grocery store in case you are not aware.
#2: It shows “with your Insider Account”. I don’t recall that wording being there in past deals. I don’t know if that is the new name for “Price Plus Card” or if it’s a mistake.
#3: It shows the deal running between 10.4.24 and 10.10.24 (Friday to Thursday). This is odd as the Weekly Ad runs from 10.6.24 to 10.12.24 (Sunday to Saturday). I wonder if this is a mistake.
Chuck,
I just looked at the ad again and there is a 4th issue that I found. It clearly shows “at your local Fairway store”. However, this in SR’s Weekly Ad.
Anyway, I created an Imgur image so you can view it for yourself and provided it below.

Burgers?,
What do you think about what I wrote?

I have the same question for both of you.
Yeah, someone at the print shop made a mistake creating the weekly flyer and it wasn’t caught, so who knows what the exact deal is this week. There probably is a deal, that’s why it was inserted, but it’s the wrong copy.
I know Shoprite has a large footprint from Maryland to NY and the weekly sales start different days in MD and NY, maybe that’s the discrepancy in dates, too.
My issue is that it wasn’t just 1 mistake. There are at least 4 mistakes by my count.
I am planning on confirming with CS before buying the gc next week but was curious what others thought about it.
BTW, it’s nice to know that at least 1 other person is subscribed to this post. 😀
BTW, CS will not know anything about this. Clerk will check a book with all the offers and see what is there.
well, I saw that also. I know Shoprite’s parent, Wakefern did buy 3 Fairway stores in NYC a few years ago. They kept the fairway name and operation, but they do carry all the Bowl and basket and Shoprite branded items.I will buy 2 Gulf and 2 Mobil cards tomorrow AM in CT and report back. I will buy them anyway with my BCP (2 PPLUS cards) and see if it prints. I will show the ad to CS and see what happens. But the last time this promo ran, a few months ago, the spend on these gift cards did not print the 10.00 certificate. The CS clerk gave me 2 10.00 SR gift cards (2 accts) to make up for this. I’ll let you know what happens tomorrow PM.
barrytuneup,
I wasn’t aware that SR bought some FW stores. I knew that some FW stores closed in the area (including 1 that I used to go to) a few years ago but I never looked into what happened to the rest.
Now I understand what Ren meant when they wrote “someone at the print shop made a mistake creating the weekly flyer and it wasn’t caught,”.
They probably also knew that some FW stores were now owned by SR and assumed that I knew that also.
Now you can see why I was so surprised in my initial comment to Chuck, right?
Anyway, I look forward to seeing your (hopefully positive) DP. 😀
no worries. Hit SR in Brookfield Ct about 9AM today. Had the Fairway promo in hand from their CT. circular. Bought 2 Gulf gas cards for total of 50.00.10.00 cert. printed w/o any input from me.. used the wife’s PPlus card and same deal. Two 10.00 vouchers for next week. Obviously printing error and nobody proofread their ads, as another poster alluded to!
So it appears that a ShopRite co-op owner purchased several of the Fairway stores. I’m not sure why the advertisement would mention Fairway… maybe they didn’t all change over to the ShopRite banner, even if Fairway sold off all of their stores. (like Fresh Grocer is a Philadelphia banner for stores operated within Philadelphia)
My local store has always been a SR so that’s not the reason. It appears to just be a mistake by SR.
Shop Rite kept the Fairway name in NYC. They are owned (since 2021) by Wakefern, the Shoprite buying coop. Much higher prices for Shoprite and Bowl and Basket items in NYC then SRites in NJ/CT/upstate NY. I was in NYC 3 months ago to visit a sick coworker from years ago. (I moved upstate 19 years ago). All ShopRite brands are at least 1.50 higher than in the other states. New Yorkers love those high prices. I strolled the aisles, Bumble Bee tuna solid 2.89 compared to upstate SR..1.69. All items are like that.
