The Offer
- Signup for the Disney+ bundle with Hulu and ESPN+ and get 3,841 Wyndham points. Direct Link
- Another option is to get $5 or $8 on Rakuten or Topcashback; the $5 is for the ad-supported version (costs $13.99/month) and $8 for the ad-free version (costs $19.99/month).
Our Verdict
Lots of people are signing up for this bundle now that you can get it free via the Amex Platinum $20 monthly digital entertainment credit, so this Wyndham/portal deal looks like a nice way of sprucing that up. The terms with Amex are clear that the the bundle subscription will work to trigger the Amex Platinum credit. Remember to enroll first in the Amex Platinum benefit.
If you choose the ad-free $19.99 version you might end up paying a little in sales tax since the AmEx credit only gets you $20 back.
The Wyndham page is showing the cost at just $12.99/month, I’m not sure why. It sounds like the Wyndham bonus works even for the ad-supported version, but I’m not positive.
Got the approval email today after 1.5 months pending. However, I do not see my points in Wyndham Rewards. Edit: “All “Approved” Wyndham Rewards points will be posted to your Wyndham Rewards account within 24 hours.”
Your Points Are Approved!
Thanks for shopping with Wyndham Rewards. You’ve received 3,840 points from your recent purchase at Disney+ US – Bundle on April 6, 2022. We can’t wait to see where your points take you.
didn’t get any pending points, anyone got it?
Mine posted 5/28 as “shop and earn points.” (15k anniversary points for the Barclays’ Biz Earner CC also posted.) I am disappointed that the portal award is only 768 points now. I wanted to do it again this month. Is anyone still having success with the Amtrak portal?
Wyndham reduced to 768 points now.
Any data points on whether this works for Hulu + Live TV? We subscribe to that and I’m trying to figure out if switching our billing is worth it.
I think Wyndham points still expire after 4 years regardless of activity. Might be worth mentioning
Are the Amex credits doled out based on the calendar month or statement cycle. For example, if you charged Peacock on 3/26 and still have the same statement, can you charge the $20 for ad free bundle on 4/6 because the month has changed or need to wait until the statement cycle closes?
Calendar month. NYT bills every 30 days, so on rare occasion two hit in the same month and you only get one credit, or you might totally miss Feb.
Thanks!
I thought NYT bills every 4 weeks/28 days?
NYT bills every 4 weeks.
Data point for points went pending with the ad-supported version
How long did it take for you? I made the order last night, still nothing showing as pending.
got the email confirmation it went pending 5 hours after
Did you ever get your points? Mine never went pending and it looks like you have to wait 5 days before submitting a claim.
This works on Amtrak portal too, 1000 amtrak guest rewards is easily $28
I cancel every month and resubscribe via Portal, it works
Do you do the ad-supported version or premium?
Nice! Thanks for the tip this sounds interesting. So just sign up for a subscription via the portal, cancel, and repeat each month, and it’s churnable huh? With the same email address/card? Looks like this would be an easy way to get Elite Status.
What’s the Amtrak Portal? How would one access it?
Don’t people still have the $.99 Hulu version from Christmas? I just added to that, $3.98+ tax. I’ve got other uses for the digital credit: audible!!
People might, but that’s with ads (and personally I find Hulu’s ads to be really disruptive), and doesn’t include Disney+ or ESPN+. So, for people who aren’t using all of their Platinum credits anyways, this is a better deal.
Hulu ads make me want to kill someone
American Express Delta has an offer until 8/31/2022 where you’ll get a 13.99 statement credit on this bundle when charged 13.99 monthly. Targeted maybe?
it was available for me too.. thx!
Rico nate I got this offer too on my AmEx Delta card.. does this mean we can keep the Disney bundle until end of August and AmEx will just refund the charge every month?
That’s my understanding but with the credit lasting until the end of august, I might cancel and look for more opportunities to get some sign up offers.
Thanks, had it on mine as well! Seems like it might deserve a separate post Chuck
