I would not be surprised if this turns into a seasonal thing, selling between mid Nov and Jan.

Hit these pretty hard years ago. Eventually got a call from USAA for doing $20k/month on the 2.5% card. Always felt sketchy walking out of the mall with $10k in my pocket.

I miss those days of interrogation calls from Amex, Chase etc. the day after I hit hard on Simon.

as more banks stop giving pts & miles for SM purchases, their sales / profits drop likely justify the reason

Do Simon Visa gift cards work for money orders at Walmart?

Nope – they stopped working years ago.

I think it depends on your Wally. SM GC did stop working for me years ago (I was a medium hitter, and turned over ~$40K/month). Having said that, I haven’t tried using them again, so maybe you’re right.

It is hard to believe that it lasted so long. The problem with the points community is that bad actors are also involved.

I remember those days buying tons of cards at Simon Mall. One location used to give us gifts when buying the cards–we got tote bags and other fun stuff. I haven’t bought one in years.

It was one of the few ways to pay cash and get an untraceable card

Stores selling gift cards always accept cash.

Who sells gift cards and won’t let you pay with cash or needs your information? Office supplies? Groceries? Drug stores? Gas stations?

I watch enough CSI-type shows to know that it’s traceable.

If it’s on TV, it must be true.
