The Fine Print
- Bonus will be deposited into your SoFi Money account.
- The Promotion is available beginning at 12am Eastern Time on July 1, 2021 and ends 11:59pm Eastern Time on July 12, 2021.
- The home loan offer ends on July 6th.
- Participants are limited to one (1) bonus between the Personal Loan, Home Loan and Student Loan Refinance product per calendar year and three (3) per household.
- To check the rates and terms you qualify for, SoFi conducts a soft credit pull that will not affect your credit score.
Our Verdict
These seem to be a public offers for anyone; the personal and student loan deals require having a SoFi Money account. Fine print indicates this to be a soft pull. Relatively easy deal to complete.

I’m still waiting for my $20.
I went through the loan application page and it took me to a page where it specifically outlined a hard pull and that it may affect my credit score. Anyone else seeing this?
I checked my personal loan rate and received pre-approval. How long should I expect to wait for the $20 to be deposited into my SoFi Money account? The terms don’t say.
YMMV, but I received the bonus redemption email in about 4-5 days when I did the $20 gift card (not $20 cash to Sofi Money) offer earlier this year.
I received mine immediately after I checked my personal loan rate.
I participated in the July one but have never received the gift card. Try to email them and only got can replies.
Sounds like SOFI is CFPB-worthy

First time or if you haven’t done it in 2021. In the fine print, “Those who have already received a $10 or $20 bonus for checking their rate on a Personal Loan, Student Loan Refinance or Home Loan in the 2021 calendar year are not eligible for this promotion.”

I tried it for the home mortgage loan link. I got past the rate check and yesterday someone called from Sofi loan department. I explained I was trying to get the 20 bucks and he was real friendly about it and explained about the gift card and when to expect it. He also sent me an email with follow up info if the gift card doesn’t show up.
I almost didn’t accept the call as it showed a different state on the caller ID and I usually get a lot of SPAM calls.
Did you ever get yours? I got a bunch of loan officer emails. Finally told them the rate and time remaining on my current mortgage could not be beat by the best they were offering and that I really just wanted the gift card. Like you they sent the generic gift card info, but I never got the expected “claim code” from the fulfillment company. I emailed the gift card company. They asked for my SoFi email and then I never heard anything more.
I got as far as seeing the rates offered, but the next step is “continue to loan application.” Do I need to keep going to get the $20? Don’t really want to do that.

Loans not available in my area, so no $20 but they got my info. 🙁
