    • Grocery stores:

Our Verdict

SoFi Money has had a few similar deals like this, some better than others. I can see the grocery store options being very popular, 10% discount on streaming services isn’t anything amazing though.

I opened my SoFi account on August 7. On August 10 I received an email from SoFi about this offer. The offer never showed up in my account, but I saved the email. Once my debit card arrived I made a small purchase at Whole Foods on August 22. Today my 10% bonus showed up, so now I feel confident to spend the entire $500 at Whole Foods/Trader Joes.

Can someone help me understand how anyone could spend $500 in a month on Netflix, Disney+, and Spotify?

Disney+ allows prepayment for the year. I assume the Disney+ bundle is allowed. Perhaps you could prepay Netflix and Spotify as well. It doesn’t have to be used in one month. The promo started several months ago.

Is there somewhere in the app/website that shows that this offer is on your account? I opened my Money account last week, and I don’t see this offer mentioned anywhere; I’m not sure if it applies to new accounts. (I deposited $500, so the Offers page shows the restaurant cashback through Empyr, but this grocery offer doesn’t appear there).

Does Instacart delivery from liquor and other non-grocery stores trigger the credit?

Anyone know if Costco same-day delivery by Instacart counts and earns 10%?

ieatdogfood, when you made the $500 purchase at WF did you use the SoFi debit card as “debit” or “credit”? I’m not sure of my PIN so I’d prefer to use it as “credit” if that’s what you did.

Just FYI, I believe you may have tagged one of my usernames with a typo email address, as I did not get a notification. I just happened to be scrolling through some threads I monitor.

I used debit with pin. I don’t know if it matters, whether SoFi coding and crediting you the cash back or Whole Foods not allowing you to use “credit”.
