SoFi Invest just updated their referral offer:
- Get $75 for each friend you invite. Get up to $10,000 total. (Previously bonus was just $25 for referrer.)
- New member also gets $75. (This part of the referral bonus has been around for a while.)
- In order for the bonuses to pay out, new member must open the account with $1,000 minimum deposit in order for these bonuses to be paid out.
Please do not leave referrals in the comments here; I’ll open up the SoFi Invest referral thread for a day or two. You can leave and find referrals there.

I’m seeing in the post $1,000 for the old $75 offer. Was that not right?
This post has been out of date for a while. I signed up in May for $50 for 5k
Is that really an improvement?
I’m preparing to go to war against SoFi. Anybody have the terms and conditions for the SoFi referral of $75 bonus for two direct deposits of +$500 each?
They said it ended 5/31 but I swore the terms and conditions didn’t have that date in it when I signed up via referral. I literally signed up the day after but it still said $75 bonus and didn’t have that end date. I’ll be posting this in multiple SoFi threads to see if it triggers anybody’s alerts.
Don’t bother with SoFi live chat, secure message via some secure website only viewable in browser, or official open ticket reply via email. It seems “Email the CEO” gets the best result with a personal CSR handler and not a robotic CSR that copy/pastes and makes up random things and sometimes contradictory information too.

My principal deposit ($1K) is able to be withdrawn within 10 business days. I forgot to check earlier this week but I know for sure it was not able to be withdrawn the first week.
I’ve seen DPs where people have churned Invest. I wonder if they were able to churn while keeping their Money account? I would prefer to keep the Money account open since I am grandfathered on good terms.
My $75 referral bonus for $1,000 deposit is now pending two days after opening. When you sign up via referral and when choosing your bonus stock, make sure it says $75 and NOT $0. After signing in with an existing SoFi Money Account, I had to click through a referral link a couple times to make sure it said I was getting $75 of the bonus stock I picked. At no point should it say $0.
I signed up for an account when they had the $75 sign up referral bonus going around earlier this year. After completing the requirements for direct deposits, I emailed them to check about the bonus. Their response –
” If the referral link is from a third party website, it will not be able to be accepted. ”
I still do not understand why that would be the case 🙁 Anything I can do about it?
My deposit came through on 5/25 and my $75 settled today 5/27. That was fast! Thanks DOC
SoFi just told me the following as to whether I need to keep deposit in the Active Invest account for 30 days. I’m sharing in case anyone else finds it useful.
SoFi customer service agent: “I see the bonus has been paid out. The only restriction the the removal of the bonus is the 5 full business days on deposit and the 2 day settlement on the sale of a stock. “
So 7 days?
