Just booked some WGW+ flights to take advantage of this.

1. If I utilize Same Day Change or Standby to take a flight earlier or later that day, will that disqualify me? If so, I might just do WGW instead.

2. Do flights booked with Flight Credits qualify?

Questions:

1) If I book a RT for someone else (like my in-laws) using my points, who gets the CP?
2) If I book a RT for 2 people (separate record locators), do they each get the CP?

1) Your in laws ould get it – I specifically asked them this this morning where I had booked a ticket for my father and husband using my points but in that case I did not qualify for the companion pass. If I am to be issued a CP, I need to travel with my rapid rewards number. If a ticket is booked without applying rapid rewards, no one qualifies for the CP.

2.) They do.

Weird Question but hopefully I can get an answer.

I just registered both my wife and I for this offer then booked both of us a RT flight using points just from my account and we both have the same reservation#. I don’t really see anywhere that would disqualify us (or one of us) but better to be safe. Thoughts?

You should be safe.

I just booked a SW flight on Sunday, outside of this promo. I’m trying to figure out if making a change to the flight and rebooking it would qualify me for this. Any opinions?

If you cancel and rebook, yes. Not if you “change” it and keep the same record locator

Good info thanks. I tried just changing it and rebooking. But your saying I should cancel and then use the flight credit to rebook?

I have one trip in October. I was attempting to cancel and rebook the flights but I found it would cost $85 more. I decided not to take that. However, I changed and rebooked the same flights, it actually credited me back $5. So I had no reason not to do it. It would be super great if this would qualify for the companion pass but I highly doubt it.

FYI The title of the post has the incorrect dates, and the link in the post is to a last promotion.

I think this is the right link: https://www.southwest.com/rapid-rewards/companion-pass-promotion/

It doesn’t require travel to Hawaii from what I can tell. Thanks for posting!

Hello, one crucial detail that you didn’t include is that you have to fly round trip from the connected states to HI.

That’s an older deal. Current in is on the Southwest home page and good for any two flights.
