Southwest is celebrating 50 years of operations today, the first flight was June 18, 1971. Southwest has had sweepstakes, 50% off flights to celebrate, increased credit card bonuses & credit card spending bonuses to celebrate. Today employees are being rewarded with 50,000 Southwest points for free (56,000+ employees). Employees need to opt in to receive the points and they will be deposited into their accounts later this year.
