Southwest Schedule Extended Until August 4, 2025

Southwest periodically make flights for further in the future available. You can now book flights through August 4, 2025. Southwest has a good cancellation/refunds policy. You either get a credit towards a future flight (Wanna Get Away) or cash refund (Business Select or Anytime). That means it’s often a good idea to book as soon as the schedule is released and then check back to see if it has dropped in price, if/when it does you can just click ‘change flight’.

What’s the reason they picked June 4th? Some country would be sensitive about that date……Is Southwest trying to get attention? They’re trying to district us from talking about how unprofitable they’re

Let’s hope so. I’m so sick of these lying cons who preboard in wheelchairs then miraculously walk off the plane when it lands.

Yes, but it is probably not going to be for at least a year. They would need to reconfigure the cabin in each plane which means taking a few planes at a time out of service for a few weeks.

This latest release was horrible, with many popular destinations not releasing WGA and WGA+ flights.

For holiday flights (i.e. between Xmas and New Years), the routes I’m looking at don’t have any “Wanna Get Away” fares. Do those ever come back available as the dates get closer? Or do I need to just book now?

They can add them in later. If you fly southwest a lot, then there is zero downside to booking now, and checking randomly until your flight. If price goes down, take the flight credits for your next trip.

Whats the history with Southwest adding flights? The flights I see a year in advance aren’t exactly what I’m looking for. Am I stuck with these options, or is there a chance that times will change or more flights will be added?

There could be minor changes, but it’s not likely they’ll add more flights.

But the best part is when they make minor changes, you can switch to a better flight for free with no fare difference

They added flights to Cancun. Had an additional non stop one earlier and later than the original flight. They moved my daughter to a different flight than me and she was on my companion pass. Couldn’t fix it myself so I had to use chat to get it fixed,

How ironic that the schedule has been extended EXACTLY to the day of the next solar eclipse visible in the US. So this means that you can book a Southwest flight out to see it, if you’re nowhere near the eclipse path, but you can’t yet book a Southwest flight back after (hopefully) seeing it.

Southwest no longer has fixed ratio of points to dollars to book a flight! Flights cost the same $ but when purchased with points the nonstop flights is more points than the same cost flight with 1 stop?!!

Check the base fare of the cash price, you should see a difference between the non-stop and connection. That will account for the difference in points pricing – both on earn rates and redemption.

There are higher fees on connections for the segment and facility charges due to multiple segments of a connection. Two flights that look like they are the same price could just be a coincidence due to the different fees that make up the total. I checked this myself and the non stop had a higher base fare than the same priced connection on the same route same date, therefore the points price was higher on the non stop.

Yea, definitely can’t get the amazing deals like before anymore. I don’t think waking up early is worth it anymore for these. However, I still just wake up at my normal time and book on release day, since SW has a great cancellation policy, I always just rebook if prices go down.
