Sprint credit card holders have been sent a messaging saying that the card will shut down on March 17th. The message is as follows:
Please be advised that the difficult decision was made to shut down the Sprint Credit Card and Sprint Visa Signature® Credit Card portfolio issued by The Bank of Missouri and serviced by Home Credit US, LLC, and effective as of 12:00 am CT on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, all Purchases and Cash Advances relating to Sprint Credit Card and Sprint Visa Signature® Credit Card Accounts are suspended. This notice provides you with helpful information regarding the details of this suspension. In the near future, all Sprint Credit Card and Sprint Visa Signature® Credit Card Accounts will be closed. More information about the closure will be provided at a later date.
Seems crazy to only give people a day’s notice that their card will be shut down and unusable, especially considering what is currently going on. I hope that cardholders were not relying on this as their only credit card. F.A.Q’s can be found here.
Spirit Airline should be shut down, not their credit card.
Lol I’m pretty sure this card was going to be canned, coron ron or not.
Coron Ron is the worst Ron.
Good thing I socially distanced myself from Sprint a decade ago
It begins.
That means people lose their credit history on this card right? Does this happen often? I don’t think we’ve seen such case from bigger banks since 2005?
Nothin’ to worry ‘bout, folks…
Your credit report retains the history on any closed card for at least 7 years, maybe 10?. It would just have a note of “closed by creditor” which is not derogatory. No, it does happen often, as most creditors want to keep their customers and would just product change them, or shift them to another backing bank.
I can’t imagine they have a large customer base on this card – probably mostly sock drawered after they got their Sprint discount on a new phone, or free tee-shirt. #sh*ttychurning
+1. 10 years I think for this
It was worse than that. 3% cash back on sprint bill, 2% in other sprint service and 1% elsewhere. No sign up bonus
