Not a great deal considering you’re still paying $1.95 in fees for each card and the fact that they are only $100 cards. Office Depot/Max is also running their instant discount $10 deal on $300+ of Visa gift cards, making this deal look even worse in comparison. If you do go for this deal, make sure to use a card that earns at a high rate on office supply store purchases. Portals unfortunately do not pay out on these purchases. One way to make this deal better is if you have any of the following American Express offers:

Finally getting the activation codes for the MCGCs from this promo. What a joke.
Here is a DP if help any one: i ordered 3 MC 100 each at promotion, received card 1st, try to activate one but failed, then waited 3 days later and received separate mails which had the activation code(same code for all 3 cards), i then go to giftcardkey site to activate all 3 cards, then got the congrats prompt said it was activated, but i can not register nor check balance or change pin online, so i gave up per all your feedback due to i do not want call and wait for 20 minutes. Today, i was shopping at local kroger, i decide to give a try to see if works,i scratched off left bottom corner and found 4 pin# on the back, i told cashier i need $95 money order, then swipe my card and used the 4# as pin, and it worked very well, i got my money order and used the left over 4.21 for grocery purchase. Hope this can save someone time and trouble.
I ordered when this was posted. Got my cards promptly but have still not received the activation codes. Anyone else in the same boat?

I received 3 cards in one envelope and there’s another envelope with the activation codes which is the same for all 3. I went to giftcardkeydotcom website as instructed on the mail with codes, entered the numbers AT THE BACK of each card (not the 16 digit card# in front), entered the code that came in the mail and the captcha code to activate. After that, I checked balance and it had $100 on each card.I did not register the cards.
Hopefully, I won’t have issues draining these to load prepaids (X’ing my fingers).
These won’t load at WM using last 4 of card number as PIN. It kept asking to re-key PIN even with cancel/change payment tactic. I just used them to buy MO at the grocery store without issues.
What were you trying to load?
for the 100 new master card, Pin number is in the back, you have to scratch off to see the 4 number unless you already set your personal pin#.
Got my 3x cards today and can’t check balance — looks like I’ll have to wait for activation codes (bottom of the letter says “Mailed to Purchaser”)
Same here. Spent half hour on the phone cards and online chat. And they are still not activated. What a bad experience.
Got my letter today with activation instructions for all 3 cards — came in regular envelope.
Tried activating then checking the balance but it still gives error 10 mins later — not sure if cards are blocked for trying to check balance before activating a few days back.
Will check again in hour to see if they finally work
Any update ?? I am struck in same suitation – got cards and will get activation code in mail today.
If you try to check the balance before activating the cards then the cards will be blocked so avoid that if you can.
First you need to activate it so the funds are loaded in 1-2 hrs — you can call Staples activation support @ 877-233-4633 if you don’t want to wait for activation letter (they’ll look up the cards by Staples order number)
Then you can call the number on back of card and ask if there’s any block on the card — they’ll tell you its “inactive” to prevent fraud since someone tried to login online before activation. Let them know that was you — you bought the card online and didn’t know that the card had a separate activation process so you tried logging in first. They’ll get another dept to reactivate the card while you wait on the phone — they’ll tell you it’ll be available for use in 10 mins but it’ll probably take a few hrs.
I unblocked 2 cards earlier today and tried logging into one after 30 mins but it gave an error and now its blocked again — the 2nd card I waited a few hrs to login and it was working fine
This is unbelievable! I activated 2 cards but can’t check the balances or register for online. I guess I will follow Jatan’s advice on my other cards and activate them and wait for a few hour and then see if I can register them.
I was able to activate all 3 cards last night. But, could not register them online. Today, I registered 2 of them and had to call about the 3rd. CSR said that I would have to send a copy of receipt, DL, etc. I said that people were having them activated by calling in and she put me on hold and then activated and registered the card for me.

I guess the question now is, what’s the recourse? Will Staples send out a replacement card?
I just received 3 cards and dang none of them are actually active.
When I go to the website “www.prepaidgiftbalance.com” to register, it just wouldn’t recognize the account number.
When I call the number on the back of the card, they say the card is not activated and I should go back to where I got.
What a Sham.
Same, but I’m going to give it a couple of days and try again. Probably a batch workflow that funds these cards that hasn’t run yet (maybe due to weekend?). Definitely a shitty customer experience to have cards arrive without funds though.
Neither of my orders has tracked in Retailmenot so far.

Is there a time frame on when they’ll get posted?
Ordered 3 of these with Amex card a few days ago. Received Amex email saying I used the offer. Yesterday received email that cards were shipped.
Checking Amex activity – no transactions
While 3 transactions of 101.95 showed up on My Us Bank reserve card.
Anyone else was charged on other card?
What do you advise to do?
Anyone know how to activate these? Got mine in the mail and there aren’t any instructions.
Staples is running this promo IN-STORE on the $200 card next week with a limit of one (instead of up to 3 $100 cards purchased online). Not sure if it’s pissible to buy more if purchased separately. From MTM this morning.
