The swipe limit of $99 with MB VGC for loading to Amex BB at the regular cashier terminal probably requires changes on both the BHN and the VGC itself (or just VGC itself). Some cards work for full $200 per swipe whereas some work with the limit of <=$99 per swipe. They both have the same BINs.

F me. Purchased $600 in VGC, ate $20 in fees. Then read it was actually MCGC this week, purchased $800 tonight, ate $30 in fees. Now can’t even complain because the Staples signage, even if it did exist, would have said Visa.

I Agree, they are too complicated to liquidate now. Not worth the time and travel to liquidate.

I’ll take every VGC I can get my hands on during the sale. It’s not hard for me to liquidate.

Pain to liquidate too many $200 Visa GCs. I have made a lot of trips to different grocery stores to liquidate for MOS. How do you liquidate a lot of $200 visa GCs in a few trips to grocery stores or other places for MOs. Thanks.

Can you still liquidate 4 x $200 VGC===>1 x MO? If yes, how? The WMs in my area used to allow, now they are coded not to accept these VGCs. None of the other stores in my area will liquidate 4 x $200 VGC===>1 x MO. Some stores will do 1 x $200 VGC===>1 x MO, which is slow to liquidate in high volume.

Mehh, use them for everyday spending. Easy 5% CB on everything if you use Chase Ink.

Consumer confusion is good for bidness.

What a miss this was. I tried Visa on Sunday with no luck. I bought MC on Monday and it worked successfully.

This is so weird. On Sunday, I tried both MCGC and VGC with no success. On Monday, MCGC went through successfully. Today (Tuesday), I tried MCGC with no success but VGC went through. Staples really need to fix their computer system

No MGC’s at my Staples yesterday so I explained the confusion over which cards were on promotion. So my cashier tried a VGC successfully and I scooped up 5. Very YMMV across country it seems.
