Staples Stores are now carrying variable load $20-$500 Visa gift cards with a $5.95 purchase fee, according to GC Galore. I don’t know if this is rolled out in all Staples stores across the country or only a few select stores. Let us know what you see.
Previously the max card in-store was $200 and online $300. The fees took a bigger bite on the purchase with the lower limits. On the $500 cards it’s just a $5.95 fee for $500 spend.
This is an awesome way to turbocharge points earnings by paying with a card that earns a bonus at office supply stores, such as the INK Cash/Plus. Staples stopped selling the $500 cards a while back, and now they’ve brought them back. We’ll see how long it lasts this time.
