[Expired] Starbucks: Free Reusable Straw With Any Cold Drink Purchase (7/10)

Deal has ended, view more Starbucks deals by clicking here.

The Offer

  • Starbucks is offering a free reusable straw with any handcrafted cold beverage at Starbucks when you order on 7/10

Our Verdict

Some people love these Starbucks freebies and some of the time you can even resell for a profit (don’t think that’ll be possible with this straw).

I believe it’s important to reuse stuff and having conscientious reusable stuff. However, “free reusable giveaways” such as this straw, like the endless tote bags and water bottles with company logos on them, are the ultimate oxymoron because they just needlessly create more trash. Unlike their cheap, single-use counterparts, these reusable freebies often end in the landfill without even being used a single time.

I got my typical Starbucks order today because I am an elitist who doesn’t mind spending $6 on a coffee. With that being said, the straw is useless and not worth anyone’s time or money. They’re free, but pointless.

No thanks, Starbucks stock is so bad now they’re literally grasping for straws. Next they’ll offer 5c off a $10 drink if you bring in your reusable straw, such business acumen wow.

My prediction is that each store will only have a certain amount and since it’s been publicized about the promotion they’re going to run out quickly in the morning and be jampacked just like they are for the Red Cup promo. Customers will come throughout the day, expecting the straws and then be upset when they run out earlier in the morning because people purchase multiple drinks to get multiple straws so they can save them or resell them.

I bought a reusable metallic straw on clearance from Walmart.

It comes in handy.

Rinse it out with soapy water when I get home.

My wife and I sometimes go to Starbucks as a splurge when it’s BOGO or 50% off. At full price… hell no.

Water from drip tray in my espresso machine is probably better than Starbucks coffee.

My choice is to wait until Friday when Starbucks will offer 50% off a drink from 12P-6P via their app.

Yeah, that’s a much better value than a reusable straw that’s a pita to clean.
