There is now a new updated Hopscotch game, more details here.
This game has now expired, but they currently have a Summer boardwalk game to replace Hopscotch.
The Offer
- Starbucks is offering a hopscotch game from June 1st until June 30th. Each space has a requirement that needs to be completed, you get 10 stars for each space. If you complete a path you get 215 bonus points and 80 for a board. If you complete everything you get a total of 425 bonus stars. Although everybody might have different bonuses/requirements (e.g some people can only get up to 350 bonus stars)
The Fine Print
- Valid on purchases from June 1st until June 30th
Our Verdict
Keep in mind every 125 stars is worth a free item at Starbucks (once you have gold status) so this is up to 3.4 free items. Don’t forget to stack it with other Starbucks deals, like the recent one from Chase Pay. How good the deal is will depend on what your own requirements are, how often you go to Starbucks and how much you value the free items. It’s usually possible to knock out multiple spaces with one purchase or do it cheaply if you think creatively. Feel free to share what your requirements are and any good ways to meet those requirements in the comments below. This is similar to the Starbucks Bingo game they have previously had.

I understood we’d get the rewards points paid out by July. We’re about to wrap up month of August and I’ve not received any rewards points from this.
THIS IS MY FIRST TIME I HAVE HEARD ABOUT IT. WHAT AND HOW DO YOU PLAY
At the end of the Starbucks game , mine says you have to make six qualifying purchases after 12 PM . well since I go every day after 12 PM I think that board should be done . but it hasn’t checked one off , what exactly is the six qualifying purchases ? does anybody know ?
I have the same questions. Where does it explain what purchases qualify. It appears to be deliberately vague. I asked a couple of baristas in the store and they did not know.
Make sure the place you are ordering has the correct time! I purchased a couple of times at 12:04pm local time, and even after I complained to Starbucks customer service (because I didn’t want to keep that from happening or happen to someone else), they still didn’t get it. They said it registered for 11:04am so follow the rules. I persisted in my questioning but they never said they looked at the store’s register time to make sure it was correct; they just finally gave me 10 bonus stars…
Does anybody know if a skipped space will count toward the extra 80 stars for completing the board?
3 small cold brew coffees ordered via the app on my way to work knocks out, or goes towards several spaces down the left side.
I SKIPPED a hopscotch by mistake. Can I unskip it?
Was anyone else asked to allow access to their information/account before proceeding (after signing in)? I didn’t think much of it, but now I feel worried and don’t know how to revoke that permission! Thanks!
The advice William Charles gives you is wise: the value of this promotion will vary from person to person. 125 Stars is worth about $7 to me. But that value plummets and is offset if I am buying food or beverage items I wouldn’t ordinarily enjoy simply to complete tasks or I’m using lots of gas costing $3-4/gallon to get to various Starbucks locations. So, enjoy yourself and have fun planning your strategy if you decide to participate. But this one is so complicated the reward will not be worth the expense for many.
425 for me but the challenges are also kind of ridiculous. Like make purchases at 5 different stores, I live in a podunk town in MS and have 1 actual starbucks store. Thankfully, my mom lives in Houston where there is one on every block but I always think how ridiculous it is that they give me challenges that I can’t complete without traveling at least 50 miles (out of state).
I also have the 425. Plenty of stores in a 3 mile radius for me. But 2 of them are inside stores (Barnes & Noble and Macys), and while the look exactly like other Starbucks locations, carry all the same products and accept payment by app, the purchases did not count towards the challenge. Also, nobody seems to know what “qualifying purchases” are if that is the ending you choose.
As a “safe” “third place” that promotes “inclusion” to ensure we all feel “more than”, shouldn’t we just get the 350 points for using the restroom and occupying a seat?
