The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Starbucks is offering 300 bonus stars when you load $20 or more in the Starbucks app with Chase Pay before November 21st

The Fine Print

  • Bonus stars will be automatically loaded to your account within 24 hours of reloading

Our Verdict

I’m not a fan of Starbucks, but this is enough for two free items so a pretty good deal and great deal if you are a fan (you’ll also end up with an extra 50 points towards a 3rd drink). Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come with the upcoming Chase Starbucks cards. Update: Chase Pay is working for business profiles. As reader VM points out Chase Pay won’t work if you’re using a business profile on Chase.com to manage business/personal cards.

Just a reminder that stars have an expiration date which can’t be extended. I’ve had a few expire here and there. On the Starbucks app click the HISTORY tab and you’ll see how many stars are expiring in future months under “Star Expiration” on the right side. Wish all the hotels and airlines made expiration info so easily accessible.

Setup a Starbucks account to do this (didn’t have one before), loaded $20 with ChasePay and next day I was notified I got Gold (requires earning 300 stars in 1 yr) and my history has an entry for 300.0 Stars Earned (from ChasePay promotion).

… but my star count in the app is 0.0…
Same thing happened to my girlfriend although she already had an established Starbucks account.

Wait… nvm I realize now that elevation to gold wouldn’t also give me the points. Oh well.

I’m in the same boat. I wish that I had clicked the “Get Gold For a Year” promo before adding the Chase Pay promo as I don’t really see much benefit to the upgrade to Gold on its own without the bonus stars. Oh well!

Today, November 21 only, get Gold for a whole year with single purchase! So buy something first, get the gold and then reload for those Stars!

Hey this stacks with the 11/21 free gold with one purchase offer. The gold posted immediately after the purchase (paid for with loaded Chasepay) and it says the points will within 24 hrs.

Usually much prefer local coffee but not always possible when traveling. I buy credit for *bucks only when deals like these.

Ok, I figured it out and yes you can. Just log in to your Starbucks Account, navigate to Reload Card, put $20 as the amount, select the appropriate payment option (Chase pay), and 5 min later you will have 300 additional points.

Is there a way to do this deal if one does not have a device? I mean can one obtain Chase Pay via the web. When I go to the Chase Pay information at chase.com, I am told to download it on the App store or get it on Google Play. I do not have any devices other than my laptop.

Offer worked for me even though I didn’t receive it via email or in app. Stars posted in minutes.

I loaded through the app this morning using Chase Pay. I still haven’t gotten any stars. Any other DPs on how long it’s taken to show ?

I just did the offer online without the app and it worked. But I was only green, so got 300 points to be upgraded to gold. Now I still need 125 more stars to get anything. I should have read the fine print. So, you don’t need to have the app.

Is paying with CSP through Chase Pay still counted as the restaurant category and earns 2 pts for the reload?
