Our Verdict
Takes at least a few days to complete. Sounds like an easyish (?) way of making $40 with no money risk involved. Check out this Reddit thread for some tips on reaching level 25. Reports are that, in practice, the rewards pend at Level 20; decide for yourself whether to continue until 25 or just hope it posts properly without going on.
If you’re new to Swagbucks then please read our review. You can get a bonus of up to $13 by using a referral link.
Was able to do this without paying in 5 days. My tips:
1. Play a bunch and watch a lot of ads in the morning and at night. The ads stop after a while and you need them to keep making progress.
2. Don’t waste energy on the other islands. Just do the tasks that pop up on the left. They award far more stars (needed to gain levels) per unit of energy.
3. Don’t stockpile tons of resources. Just collect what you need for each project. That way when you have an objective to gather resources, you can. The exception is when you have more energy than you can use. Then grab whatever you’re low on. You’ll need lots of clay and stone.
4. Lastly, grow corn and sell it for experience! This is a biggie. It grows fast and will help you push through levels faster. Sell it by accessing your man purse on the bottom right of the screen.
Just finished this and it pended almost immediately. Took me easily 10 hours of gameplay, often semi-actively because you have to watch A LOT of ads to get through this so I recommend finding something else to do in those 30 second ads.
In addition to the tips on the reddit thread, here are some of my own:
1. if you’re churning corn you can also get them done quicker if there are <30sec remaining by clicking on one of the corns
2. people say to avoid the temporary islands but they can be a good source of resources once you run out on the main islands and completing the objectives can get you pretty dope items. I just did enough to win the second prize and bounced. check the island points/leadership menu to decide what's easiest to get to reach to the prize and if the competition finishes soon, ending in the top 3 will get you better rewards
3. be mindful where you use your gloves and gas cans. they can open areas with tons of free shit and in some cases are needed for main story objectives. they are pretty hard to get
4. don't blindly do the balloon guy and the botanist. depending on what they want, it's not worth it and I either do only the first or second objective and skip the rest, especially if it's valuable items needed for the main story, which you should always prioritize
5. watching ads on items that take a long time to make has diminishing returns, so I suggest doing it a couple times asap for items you need. for example, watching an ad on a 1h item will cut 15 min but watching an ad on a 30 min item will only cut 10 min.
6. at some point, the game would stop giving you ad opportunities. this is the most annoying part and other than growing plants I had almost nothing to do. it can take a few hours for the ads to come back. without them you will run out of energy very fast
7. when you need a resource, first focus on getting it from islands at the fog boundary to progress there. that way you can kill two birds with one stone.
8. the only thing I bought was a starter pack I think which gave lots of items and energy for $4 I think. another one I'd consider is the golden pass thing which has more long-term benefits. another one I considered getting is just a gem pack which will also give you an energy bonus for the first purchase I think.
bottom line is 10 hours for $60 bucks so around $6/hr if you want to look at it this way. it's not the worst but not the easiest one I've done either. it got pretty grindy at the end but I kind of enjoyed the story and the puns so YMMV.
Did it pend at level 20 or 25 for you? I started on 5/4 and am currently on level 21 and it hasn’t shown as pending yet…
Pended at 20 like a minute after I reached it. I’d contact SB support at this point
Hmmmm. The problem is that it states you need to hit level 25 for credit. So if they ask for any proof, they’ll see I’m not there. I like games like this, but with the exponential difficulty, not sure if I’ll make it to level 25 in time. I might wait a few more days and then reach out. Ugg.
Anyone had issues with it freezing on the opening loading screen? It keeps freezing and I am unable to get into the game. I am afraid to reinstall the game because I feel like that will negate the “new user” part since I will have already had it installed on my phone, and therefor it wont track to get the swagbucks
There is no way they are getting a return on this advertising campaign, why do they keep raising it?!
InboxDollars $50 went pending at level 20. Kept “watching” the ads and selling extra resources like corn.
Many people have commented on how they disliked this game/offer. I agree, but wanted to add a couple of tips and info.
I spent 22 hours on this game. Not with it sitting idle, but a vast majority was growing, building, watching ads, etc.
It took me a while to realize when you run out of things to do on the main island that you must earn more stars to move forward to the next level.
If you do this by going to other islands to complete tasks it will take forever! It gives 2-5 stars for completing missions on other islands. And those can take hours to do. Just make corn over and over until you progress to the next star level and you’ll get all new tasks to complete.
If I had realized this I would have saved hours.
That being said, I should have read more and skipped this! It went pending at level 20 but it was not ever fun and took wayyy too long to achieve. You’ve been warned. 😁
It’s still good to go to the islands to get energy from the berry bushes. The tasks are a waste like you said
Another tip… Don’t trade with Gaspar or anyone. The gains are not worth the effort. Trade with the botanist when convenient.
Has anyone else gotten to Level 20 and had it *not* pending in Swagbucks? I have nothing pending despite hitting Level 20 yesterday. Now wondering if I somehow signed up wrong. I clicked the offer on my phone and enabled tracking across apps when I signed up (just checked and it’s still enabled).
Did you contact SB? How did this play out for you?
I’m at level 21 and it hasn’t gone pending yet. Pretty sure I did everything correctly when I signed up.
Compared to Mafia City and Grand Mafia, this took longer and paid less. On the plus side, it’s doable F2P so if you don’t make it then NBD
I did this back when it was $30. Hugely regretted it. I’ve probably done around 10 of the mobile game offers and this one was the worst. The main issue is in order to reach level 20 you need to build and do a certain # of things. However you have very low ‘stamina’ and it requires you to watch soooo many advertisements in-game in order to get stamina to upgrade your buildings and harvest items needed. I probably had to watch over 100 ads and they are all horrible mobile game ads. I think it probably took me 20 hours of playing….
