Our Verdict
We haven’t seen any sort of signup bonus for this account in many years. Some people like doing these smaller bonuses with a simple account signup deals and not much else in the way of requirements. This account some people also find useful for the 1% back on debit card spend.
You won’t get a 1099 from Discover for this bonus (though legally you would likely have to self-report this income). Note, however, there is a chance of getting a 1099 from Swagbucks if you cross the $600 earnings threshold, see this post to learn more.

Done. Showing SB pending activity dashboard, “credits in 32 days” 12000SB!
I have a SB account that has been inactive a long time so this offer got me to return to SB. Will the application work as a Discover card user log in for faster signup?
Does anyone know if you can apply for this if you already had this account in the past but closed it a few years back? I searched in the comments but dont see an answer to that
thanks
yes the reward points showed up a few hours after the account was opened. i had discovery checking a few years (5 years maybe)
Hey, I just applied for the card last week with 9000 SB points. Can I ask for an offer match?
Same question, but I thought swagcucks doesn’t match offers?
i feel like SB increasing points the past few weeks means Discover might do a direct account bonus that could stack with it. probably going to hold out a bit longer.
Applied via MP/instant approval. (new account is visible with pre-existing Discover CC)
Deposited $50 via transfer from Chase checking.
Visit tracked immediately showing 18700 MP due.
Will report if/when it shows pending.
Happy Holidays…everyone.
MP shows “18700 points pending/credits in 32 days”.
Swagbucks offer $110 now
Have both savings account and CC with discover. Applied with bank login with Chex frozen and denied. Any downside in removing the freeze and re-applying ?
Discover attempted to obtain a ChexSystems report when the application was submitted but could not due to a freeze on your ChexSystem record. Please contact Chex Systems if you have questions regarding this freeze or to remove it prior to submitting a new application.
It will add a Chex inquiry. It depends on how much you value each Chex hit
inboxdollars: $90 + $10
p1: instant approval, inboxdollars instant $10 bonus and $90 pending
p2: pending, had to call discover because of difference in maiden name from prior account. discover said she has to reapply. inboxdollars shows instant $10 bonus and $90 pending even if no account opening. time will tell.
My account also had the 1000 SwagUp bonus offer. Applied with Chex frozen, logged into my Discover credit card account at the beginning of the application, and my new account was immediately approved. I then set up a $50.01 transfer (pull) from an external account. A couple of hours later the 1000 SwagUp bonus is already posted in my account and the 9000 SB are showing as Pending for 32 days.
Will keep the funds on deposit until the SB are fully posted to comply with the terms of not withdrawing for the first month.
