Swagbucks: Signup for Acorns Investing and get $115

Update 12/19/22: It’s up to $70 now on Swagbucks + $40 with the recurring deposits promo. I believe you’ll also get $5 from Acorns after signu which brings it to $115 total possible. (Not sure if the $30 Swagup is still showing for those targeted.) (ht Brian R)

Update 11/19/22: It’s up to $55 now. Many of us are seeing a Swagup for an extra $30 which brings it to $85 total. They also advertise a direct-from-Acorns offer to get $40 with recurring deposits, but I don’t have additional information on that part of the bonus. (ht ChickenLittle)

  • Must enter valid sign-up information, including credit card information and SSN to earn SB.

  • Update 9/21/22: It’s up to $80 now, updated below. Valid from September 19 until September 25.
  • Update 10/20/21: Via Revenue Universe, MyPoints is now up to 12,600 (worth at least $79) and Swagbucks is at 6,300 ($63). You’ll get $5 from Acorns on top of that.

  • Update 11/23/20: The $30 + $10 offer is working now (previously there was some glitch preventing the signup from working, apparently).
  • Update 11/18/20: Offer is now 3,000 Swagbucks + $10 so $40 total. Hat tip to reader bunny
  • Update 8/12/20: Offer increased to $30 now; it’s $10 from Acorns + 2,000 Swagbucks. Hat tip to reader Hoops
  • Update 7/25/20: Offer increased to $25 now. It’s $10 from Acorns + 1,500 Swagbucks. Hat tip to reader Xatos
  • Update 5/3/20: Offer is back, but only for 750 SB this time (previously it was 1,350).
  • Update 2/6/20: Offer is available again.

Our Verdict

You’ll end up with $23.50 here ($10 + $13.50) which is the best signup bonus we’ve seen for Acorns. The typical is to just get $5 when signing up with a referral link. In the past, Swagbucks offered just $12 ($5 + $7) total. Good time to signup now if Acorns interests you. See our full review on Acorns here.

If you’re new to Swagbucks then please read our review. You can get a bonus of up to $13 by using a referral link.

Hat tip to reader Brendan

Does anyone know whether there are any penalties for closing the account after the bonuses credit? I didn’t see any in the fine print.

dont think so, as long as you wait until sb posts you should be good unless terms specifically say otherwise

Thanks. The terms said something about losing any pending bonuses/incentives if you close the account but that seems normal.

Anyone else get this? I am wondering if it is worth it as last time I had to chase them a lot to pay up

Did everyone get the $40 bonus for recurring deposits and the $5-$25 bonus (bonus amount appears to depend on when you signed up based on the comments) for one-time deposit funding with $5 or more mentioned in the Swagbucks terms and DoC post?

“Sign up for your Investment Account and fund your account by making a deposit of at least $5, and receive a bonus from Acorns. Plus, earn 7,000 SB.* In addition, you qualify for a special $40 bonus from Acorns if you signup to make recurring deposits today!” – https://web.archive.org/web/20221227080543/https://www.swagbucks.com/cash-back-offer/97800/acorns

Still waiting on the bonuses from Acorns.

The SB were around $55 which worked. I had to chase these Acorns idiots a lot for the $40 recurring offer. As soon as I got that I closed the account.

On Feb 23 they sent me this email for coming back, wondering if it is wort it?

Get a bonus $15 when you reinvest in yourself!

I got the Swagbucks quickly but neither of the two Acorns bonuses automatically. It seems they didn’t give you the bonus for the initial funding deposit either and the recurring deposit had to get awarded manually.

The $15 bonus sounds like a $12 MM if it posts before renewal: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/acorns-75-checking-bonus/#comment-1383543, or slightly less if it takes longer and you downgrade the plan. I’d say it’s worth it fdic

Got an email titled “We want to hear from YOU!” offering $3 in bonus investments for filling out a survey. The survey mainly asked about my thoughts on their referral program and why I have not used it.

“You’ve been selected to help us shape the future of our product! We’d love to hear about your experience with Acorns. Your opinion will help us continue to improve our product.

This is a short survey, taking less than 5 minutes to complete, and the best part is – you can take this survey anywhere!

For participating in this study, you will receive $3 in your Invest account.

If this sounds good to you, please follow the link below and fill out the survey:”

ieatdogfood or Denise or someone else, may I ask if you have any opinion on keeping this open or closing it down?
I invest $5 for the SB offer, I think got $55 from SB.
Acorns also had an offfer for doing $5 recurring and getting $40 from them. They were horrible in paying that out, had to chase a lot. Just got it a few days ago and just remembered that they are going to charge me another fee tomorrow. So thinking of closing it today. Will appreciate if there is any point in keeping it open.
thank you!

Chuck The SB offer is now $30 I think in case you want to update the post thanks

Does opening the acorns account require a credit check/affect credit score? About to close on a house and want to know if this will affect the home buying process.

While you wait for the $40 (60 days after reoccurring deposit). There is a $1/month tier in the plan settings called acorns assist that’s cheaper than the $5/month tier listed

I didn’t see the Assist setting until I went to close my $3/mo Invest account, then it was offered.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to have the fee billed to a credit card? If so, how?

I think they billed my checking. With Stash, you can give them the CC Xylexia

Yeah, I was hoping they operate the same way. Stash is nice like that, but so far I haven’t found a credit card that will waive a $3 balance.

Brian R Jeff

I did this when it was $55 on SB

This is the link for the recurring promotion. It said they will deposit $40 by the 10th of the following month but nothing so far. I opened around Nov 20th or so

Called today and they are asking me to wait upto 60 days. If I remember correctly there is a monthly fee too, right? SB says another 10 days to go.

https://www.acorns.com/recurring-investments/

Wondering if anyone got this $40 promo at all?

I never saw an offer from Acorns but I set up daily recurring deposits of $5 just in case.

They said because I cancelled after the first recurring deposit I wasn’t eligible… I complained that this wasn’t listed as a requirement so they said they’d escalate internally.

It’s been over 60 days for me and I still haven’t received the $40 bonus. I’m waiting on an update from Acorns email support.
