T-Mobile: Free Voice Line For New & Existing Customers (Two Paid Lines Required)

Update 3/16/21: T-Mobile running the free line promotion again starting 3/17/21. Eligible SOC list here. As always reddit is by far the best resource for this deal.

Update 12/20/20: Now live, seems to stack with previous free line deals as well. Eligible SOC list here. Reddit is the best resource for this deal.

Update 12/19/20: New deal will start 12/20 according to Slickdeals. Not sure what rebates if any will be available this time. You can use this browser extension to find out your SOC. More information in this reddit thread.

Update 11/25/20: Deal is now active, has been confirmed that the Costco rebate works as well.

Update 11/24/20: This deal is coming back starting tomorrow (11/25). List of eligible SOC codes here. How to find your SOC code here. You can also stack it with this $100 rebate promo (or this $200 promo from Costco). The T-Mobile subreddit is the best place for more information/to ask questions.

Contents

The Offer

  • New and existing T-Mobile customers will be able to get a free voice line in store or via T-Force (T-Force is T-Mobile’s social media team. You can also text 611 and reference ‘Doc 20Q23‘).
    • New customers must activate 2 voice lines and the third line will be free
    • Existing customers must have at least two paid voice lines.

The Fine Print

  • Excludes discounted plans (military, first responder, 55+ and T-Mobile ONE All-In Promo plans)
  • The new line must be from activation and not transferred from a existing T-Mobile account.
  • Change of responsibility or transferring an existing Customer for the 5th line is not eligible for this promotion.
  • That line will have Unlimited calls and text with data of 4GB like the current data of your line.
  • Unlimited data for new line is cost $30.
  • Also, as long as you will not change your plan or will not cancel any lines on your account, the 5th new line will be free.

Our Verdict

Deal is now live, if you speak to a representative that doesn’t know what you’re talking about then reference Doc 20Q23. Sprint is already offering a free unlimited line for existing customers. T-Mobile & Sprint have merged in a massive deal. That Sprint deal is better as only one line instead of two are required for the freebie.

Post history:

  • Update 9/24/20: Today is the last day
  • Update 9/18/20: Deal is back and you should be eligible even if you did the same deal earlier in the year. You can find a list of eligible SOCs here. Learn how to find out your SOC here.
  • Update 9/16/20: This is coming back on 9/18. It also stacks with the free line from back in July. Reps cannot add the deal early so you need to wait until the 18th. Hat tip to reddit
  • Update 7/6/20: I accidentally scheduled the update for 7/24 instead of 7/4. Sorry to those who missed the Costco deal as a result.
  • Update 7/4/20: Costco is having a promotion tomorrow where you can add your free line and also get a $100 gift card. The ran the same promotion on July 3rd and it worked, so I assume it’ll work tomorrow as well. Hat tip to SD

T-Mobile is running another free line promotion for targeted customers as part of a 2022 Holiday Unwrap Promo.
You must message T-FORCE (using Facebook or Twitter) to have the line added
Promotion code: 2022 BYOD Line P1
You must pay the $35 line activation fee and does not stack with any free phone promotions.
Rumor is the free line promotion ends 12/19

Bought an AT&T prepaid phone number on ebay for $25, ported that in to take advantage of the free iPhone SE when you port in. Also today the 256gb version unexpectedly dropped $100 in price making it the same price as the 128gb, so that was too good to pass up (was planning on the 64gb prior). That’s $450 for he phone and the iPhone on Us promo is capped at the 64gb price of $400. So, all in all I paid $85 including sim card for a brand new iPhone SE 256gb and a free line. This is my third free line.. The taxes are about $5 for me but I get a $5 auto-pay discount per line so it evens out.

This free line works for the “add a line, get a discounted/free phone” deals. For example, by adding this free line, you can get a Pixel 4a 5G for $175.

Everyone is boasting, bragging about how many “free lines” they have added with these free add a line promo for existing customers but not saying what exactly their plan is or how much they are paying. Some say they have so far added 4 free lines with these promos. One guy said he now has 6 lines for $100. is this true?

In my situation, I am stuck with a grand fathered promo called TMO ONE ALL IN PROMO and it is 3 lines total for $100 including kickback, tax and fees. I am never eligible for any free add a line promo even after talking to supervisors and the only plan they can switch me to meganta max plan 4 lines for $180.

I started on Simple Choice 2 unlimited lines for $100.00. My SOC code is SCFUTTBD.
I have a total of 9 lines
I can have up to 15 voice lines on this plan
I currently pay $142.54 for all 9 lines $100.60 + ( $4.66 taxes x9)

My free line promos:
Includes $40.00 Friends & Fam 2 Lines On Us
Includes $40.00 Friends & Fam 2 Lines On Us
Includes $40.00 This One’s on Us (AAL)
Includes $40.00 2020 Line On Us
Includes $40.00 2020 Line On Us 2
Includes $40.00 2020 Line on Us 3
Includes $40.00 2020 Line On Us 4
This would be my 8th free line on T-Mobile

I started a chat via the T-Mobile app and within 30 minutes I was able to add the free line and got 2 SAMSUNG GALAXY S21 5G. They were buy one get one free.

Got a free line back in December and today got another free line. It’s $10 + tax for the sim card. I believe you can avoid this charge if you activate it in Costco, but typically it is more of a hassle vs taking 5 minutes to do it over chat on the T-mobile iPhone app. Note that some people have to pay taxes and fees on this free line. If you have a plan that lumps in all the taxes and fees into your flat rate you don’t have to worry about any additional charges other than the cost of the sim card.

Can I stack this free voice line with a trade in promo? Like trading in an older iPhone to get the iPhone 12 on us.

I believe that this offer does stack with other promos right now, at least some of them. I was able to get this free line added to my account as well as a Pixel 4a 5g for $175 (half off through T-Mobile with activation of a new line) even thought that “new line” was the free line for life.

Excellent. Just recently got a new phone number on a prepaid plan but the plan and service was lackluster. I qualify for this t-mobile free line as I got a simple Choice with corporate discount on it. 5 line already, 3 paid. So, I qualify to add a new free line, and port in my new #.

Reddit mention stacking promo, let see if that works to get a free iPhone SE on top of it.

Got a free line and stack with the trade-in offer for iPhone 12 ($830 credit if trade-in a iphone 8). I had a external carrier line that was ATT RedPocket, so I was able to get that ported in, and a iphone 12 with my iPhone 8 (The iPhone 8 was purchased for $200).

Used this to get 50% off a new Pixel 4A “when you add a line”.. Stacked successfully. Not a bad phone for $250. Free line is a nice bonus on top
