App gives error message when I click on the offer from the main screen or if I click on “Deals”. Tried updating, uninstalling, reinstalling. Same issue. Garbage.

I signed up for their app last year when they promised a free Chulapa box for new customers. They never honored their offer in the app, so I have never eaten at Taco Bell since then. It wasn’t worth my time to contact them, but I will never forget that they scammed me.

Don’t worry, I got them back for you! Install app, make new account, get free taco or 5 layer burrito, which is $2.99. Remove Nacho Cheese and sour cream, make it grilled. Free. Pickup and eat. Then clear data, and make another new account (no email verification so it doesn’t need to be valid). Free item loaded usually 5-10 minutes. I get 1 or 2 per week as a little free snack when I’m cruising around.

Per your comment on Dec 15 2020, it was on the last day in the eleventh hour. It’s possible they pulled it a few hours before midnight or hit the 2.9 million signups. Maybe the offer ended at midnight UTC time. When waiting until the last minute, technical issues tend to crop up where you miss out.

Quietly, all these promotions are mostly now limited only to people who have signed up for the company’s “reward” program/app. Easy way for them to drastically reduce cost of these freebies, especially in lower income areas where people don’t have an iPhone they can pull up or redeem the freebie.

Seriously? You can get a smart phone capable of running the app for $20-30. Then use free WiFi at Taco Bell. Don’t even need ongoing service.

The only people that don’t have smart phones these days are older people that don’t know how to use technology. They would never take advantage of these promo either. Why do people need to make everything so political. All Taco Bell wants is our data, as always. I don’t think they care about anything else.
