Our Verdict
Redcard doesn’t discount Target giftcards. Discover is offering 5% on Target this quarter though.

I think you have to do it in one purchase right?
Terms say limit one coupon/offer per guest. Since it’s tied to a Circle account, I’d assume it’s an one-and-done type of deal.
I read through the comments and I think I’m more confused now. Can anyone answer this question? If I buy 10 physical $50 gift cards through my Target circle account online (to get the discount) and have them shipped to me; Can I give these to my family and they can use them how ever they want without them going through my Target circle account when they are used for purchases? (hopefully that was not too confusing).
Whether you buy egift or physical gift cards, they can be used by anyone. The only thing that attaches to your Circle account is the fact that you purchased them. Hope that helps.
Thanks!
Yes, totally! Once you give them the gift cards, they can do as they please. The physical gc will not be linked to your Target circle account.
Thanks!
Can confirm, the GCs are not automatically linked to your account. HOWEVER once you do add the GC to your account then it cannot be added to another account. But anybody can still use the GC. The limit is just that it can only be added to one account (i.e. added so that it appears as a payment method for the account).
So SYW definitely codes as groceries for in store Super Target, right? Don’t wanna loose another 5% for not using Discover. 🙂
Anyone have a way to buy more than one per person? I’m not sure how they are linking me but any subsequent purchase on another account gets canceled.
if you are ordering online then they are probably linking based on billing information. my guess is it would work if you bought in-store. somebody below reported issues with the 10% at their store but assuming there is not some widespread issue then i would assume it should work.
top and rmn both have 2% back if you’re buying enough to make it worth the bother.
gc’s excluded from cash back
*at least that is what it says
I’ve had RMN track for Target GCs in the past. YMMV.
At my local Target store, none was able to get the 10% off work. The manager had to hand out additional gift cards in lieu of the discount.
I’m always surprised how Target stays alive.
I wasn’t there, but I’m sure the manager was handing out $10 Target GC, not $11.11.
Therefore, everyone’s discount was reduced from 10% ($100 GC for $90) to 9.09% ($110 GC for $100 GC).
Perhaps the manager knew how to get it to work but figured they were better at math than the average Target customer.
I’ve bought this deal the past two years without even thinking about card to use, just put it on the Red Card as usual. Am I required to use the Red Card to get this deal or can I use any card?
You can use any card. With the RedCard, you don’t get any rewards buying Target Gift Cards.
I could only get the deal through the Target Circle app, which is tied to my RedCard and doesn’t allow me to add other types of cards. How did you get another card to work?
You can use any payment method in the Target app
Even for in-store purchases? Mine says that you can only add Target cards to the app wallet.
To use target circle deals with a non red card, you have to disable ALL payment methods in the app (you can just turn off payment with the red card and make sure all gift cards are also turned off). Then when you go to pay just scan the app barcode like normal and proceed to use whatever other payment method you want to make the payment like you normally would
Any cashback/points card is better than redcard. Discover is best now with extra 5% cashback but at bare minimum others will provide 1% or more.
Any card works
Just fyi, deal is live… Today (Sat, 12/7) and tomorrow (Sun, 12/8).
It’s time homies! Stack up!
