Target is offering 5% off Target gift cards from 7/11 – 7/13. Limit of $500 in cards can be purchased

Our Verdict

There is no further discount when using Target REDcard. We often see a 10% off deal several times a year, so not sure how useful this deal will be for most people. Can use the Discover it via Paypal to earn 5% cash back.

Semi relevant information. I had target gcs loaded to my app balance and went to the store and used their wifi. Someone had hacked their wifi and spent the day at their Cafe accumulating balances and bought $10k+ in electronics that evening according to the 1800 Target rep.

They were able to take the gift card number assigned to my app balance and use it on their account so I never received any email. It was a surprise for me when I went to checkout next and found the account drained.

Target did a “one time only” courtesy refund and gave me it back after multiple phone calls and 2 months.

That totally sucks. Glad I haven’t use the Target wifi and now probably never will.

I do tend to keep less than a couple hundred at a time in my app.

Got an email from citi that I’ll get 5x points for PayPal purchases with my Citi Premier, up to $600. So this will be a perfect use of that

First tech federal CU debit spending requirement should work for this. If it’s 5% off, than I’ll spent $475 and get 10% on that. Spent the last $25 or something else grocery.

Information Booth You can add Target as a brand to the Juno app for 5% off stack. I believe the Juno cashback is limited to $300 a year (so $6000 spend).

This is the first year I’m running out of Target Gift Card. Usually I stock up for a year during after black friday 10% sale. With BOA 3% back, comes to around 13% savings.
Now stacking with Discover PayPal, savings will come around 10% which is still not bad. I’ll just buy that I’ll need until after black friday.
