The Offer
- Target is offering a free $10 Target gift card when you buy $100 Apple gift card.
Our Verdict
Deal should be available both in-store and online at target.com. Pay with REDcard for an extra 5% off.
These gift cards are quite valuable given they now work for purchasing real Apple products, as well as for digital purchases on iTunes; the added $10 bonus could be worthwhile for someone who wants to make an Apple purchase, e.g. buy a new iPhone.

How do I get around a limit of 3 cards? I was able to buy 3 apple cards. Every new purchase gets canceled.
Only seeing $25 Apple GCs in-store now–last year their were plenty of $100 Apple GCs. Manager said they stopped stocking $100 Apple GCs because of fraud issues.
Interesting. Maybe they finally figured out that customers were losing a fortune in hacked cards. I usually buy at self checkout and load right there in the store. I don’t take any chances 🙂
Apple also improved the packaging to make it more difficult for criminals to open and reseal the cards.
Check target circle for bonuses. Had a 5% off “storewide” and spend $120 get $15 circle rewards. 5% expired today but the circle spend offer was for 7 days and this would qualify.
blackbird3150 Worked great. I did two separate purchases of $100 each (two separate days), got 2 $10 TGC and the $15 Circle bonus. Thanks for the heads up to check.
Is the “spend $120 get $15 circle rewards” targeted? I don’t see any offer in my Target Circle Rewards.
BOND Yes, those type of bonuses are targeted. I get them from time to time but I shop at Target once a month or so. P2 rarely has activity on their account and is targeted far less.
If I were to do this in store, how would I confirm offer is applied? Normally for Target offers, I see something in circle that I can add to my wallet in app, but here, it’s adding the promo gift card to cart at checkout automatically
Also, DP: I was able to get three of them through online before I started getting blocked out by the system
Better to use those Visa or MCs from Staples – you get 5X for buying and then spending them at Target gives you $10 per hundred. I did $900 during Xmas and got $90 in Target cards.
How do you do it multiple times? Offer says one GC per customer
Most likely multiple transactions. Online I’ve been able to get a few, in store much easier to do several at self checkout.
I am still holding $1k apple gc from 2020 purchased from target. Why? Because most of the time, deals from amazon are always cheaper than apple (except some specs are only available at apple). com itself. And I only upgrade new mac every 5 years. For Phone, I always go with Tmobile since they have better trade in deals. So, getting Apple gc and their CC aren’t worth for me. Learned my lesson. :/
tldr: Break free from postpaid cell service –> Go prepaid +/- Pay cash for phone and you will come out ahead in almost every situation.
*** Here’s another lesson: 2021 was the last year that any trade-in deal with any major cell service provider (or MVNO) was an actual “deal”. Since then, virtually every trade-in deal is merely “rewarded” (lmao!!) as bill credits amortized over masochistic 2-or 3-year contracts (wtf!!!).
Look for an exit plan before your contract ends (*refer to /r/nocontract subreddit and sIickdeaIs). Go prepaid. Then, finally liquidate those gift cards and trade-in your current device (*hopefully an iPhone) on apple.com for your next phone (e.g. iPhone 16, 17) approximate to the total sum of your $1K giftcards + trade-in value. Thereafter, you can pay cash for any future phone—new, old, used—of any brand at any retailer or hobo of your liking and reap the minimal cost of prepaid cell service of your liking in any month of the year.
I have ATnT prepaid $25/month, paid in full as $300/year with 16-GB rolling data. Target always has “$5 off $50 prepaid cards”. I buy $300 worth of ATnT prepaid cards (*i.e. six separate transactions of one $50 card) and pay with 5% Target debit card. Thus, I actually pay $256.50/year for cell phone service to use an iPotato 6(!!!). Yes, you can always pay less or more for different prepaid cell service plans that meet your cell phone habits, but you will always come out way ahead of postpaid cell service +/- trade-in “deals”.
TracFone will sell you an iPhone SE3 for $189 and let you run it off a $20/3month service card after the first month (first month will cost at least $15). You need to be very sparing with your mobile data usage (you can buy 1GB data for $10 as needed), but this is significantly cheaper than any other other prepaid option even before factoring in portal cashback, airtime auto-refill discount and credit card rewards.
I use visible. $25/mo unlimited. Each referral is another $20 off and they have signup deals on Rakuten and regular first 3 months discounted. Apple refurbished store and Apple Edu store (they don’t verify anything) have decent deals.
Consider Mint Mobile prepaid. You will come out ahead in the long run. Also, look for the Apple certified refurbished offers with a 1 year Apple warranty.
Sell your used iPhones on eBay and you will get a much better price than a trade-in.
I dont think I can get $1000 trade-in statement credit for an iPhone 11 pro on eBay… Tmobile gave me that.
Hi Wick, I try to only stock up on GCs when I know I have a planned purchase very soon. Otherwise, I run into the same situation with large GC balances sitting idle for long periods.

its online now only dumbass
Thanks for the news articles! A lot of gift card fraud to watch out for.
Well I’m a little pissed off, I was going to run through a few Chase cards tonight with this offer and all the offers disappeared sometime between early afternoon and now. Do Chase Offers usually expire at some random time late afternoon on their expiration date?
Same happened to me. Unfortunate they seemingly expired early.
Same issue on my end. Offer says it must be redeemed on or before the expiration date so I think it will still be ok.
I’ve seen the offer disappear earlier in the day but have still gotten credit as long as the charge is still the day it expires.
Thanks! Will keep that in mind for the future. Didn’t want to risk it so just used Redcard for 5% off instead of 10%. Still an okay deal.
i also got a target circle offer of spend $100 3 times and get $30 reward; these work on apple gc purchases (likely just not target gc)
i actually didn’t see it until after buying the first one, but it still counted (this happened previously too, as long as purchase and activation are within the same day it seems to count). will do another 2 in store to get the reward
Wow, I did not know but after reading this I did notice 2/3 activities marked as done. Thanks for sharing.
PS: I had activated the offer couple of days but no other purchase was made so far.
did 3x with 3 of my Chase cards that have 10% Target cashback
