The Offer
- Target.com is offering a free $10 Target e-gift card when you buy a $100 Apple e-gift card during the week of February 14 – 20.
Same deal will be available in Target stores as well on physical Apple gift cards.
Our Verdict
Apple gift card deals are always popular as a way of bringing down the cost of Apple products.
In the past, you could bypass the limit by ordering different denominations. So if you’re denied after buying two orders of $100 cards, you could try 2x $50 or 4x $25. Idk if it’ll still work since I haven’t boughten any since 2020 when Apple threw their temper tantrum on Raise to stop allowing people to sell their GCs.
The 8x rewards for $50+ of Apple at Safeway/Albertson’s (exp. 2/16) is probably a better deal with all the different CC grocery bonuses right now.
Is there usually a limit on how many can be purchased?
When we did the q4 deal, no limit. Just a really slow processing period.
I just tried to do a third purchase and it cancelled, maybe that was Red Card (debit) fraud or something though.
Same here, my first two went through but the third was automatically cancelled. I didn’t even use the RedCard.
I think the limit is two per account (even though the terms state one).
Not as slick as the previous deals in Q4 2020 because there is no card offer 5% currently in Target, and red card excluded gc, so basically only 5% off, which is pretty small considering Cash+ already covered that 5% in apple store purchase and boa cash reward offer 3% already
You can buy Negative fee Safeway GCs right now and use them for this deal. This would give you up to 10x MR (platinum)
Don’t have a Platinum card, not worth it for me but good for those that have it. And not everyone has a Safeway or affiliate in their area.
I used my two $50 cards (used WF 10% rewards) to buy Apple Cards at the grocery store with 8x points. Turned that into over $10 in grocery rewards.
Can you please elaborate on this?
Don’t see any mention of $10 on the app when I add the GC. Is it just automatic?
… during the week of February 14 – 20
Warning: Do not load the gift card to your account if you plan to make a purchase at the Apple Store.
I made this mistake when Best Buy had a 100/20 deal. I subscribe to Apple TV+ so it’s just going to deduct the $4.99 every month for that for 20 months, but I did that deal with the hopes of using it to cover the cost of a new battery on my phone. The employees said they can’t use it once it has been linked to your account.
That’s pretty ridiculous. Fortunately, I used the hundreds in my accounts to buy a phone from their website
It looks like once it’s loaded to your account it can only be used online or in the Apple Store app. So you can buy products in store with the app, but I’m guessing you can’t pay for repairs in the app.
A store was able to buy an item for me and return the gift card portion as a gift card in person.
I thought the whole point of the new Apple unified gift card was that you can combine and use for purchases at the Apple store?
You can use gift card funds that have been loaded to your Apple ID for normal purchases at the Apple store, you just need to use the Apple Store app to checkout. But from what Bob mentioned it doesn’t work for repairs.
I wonder why Amazon never got in on these Apple GC deals during the holidays
Nice. I wonder if I can buy multiple or it’s 1 per Circle account…
I’m still trying to off load apple gift cards from the holidays.
Why offload when you can buy stuff from Apple? Unless you bought them only to sell them?
Sell them for a discount then?
yep!
