Target has a special offer for December 11, Green Monday (I never heard of it either):
- For each $100 spent on Target.com, you’ll get $20 off the purchase
There’s also another deal mentioned for the entire week of December 10-16 both in-store and online to get $10 off a $50 toys purchase or $25 off $100 toys purchase. The toy sale cannot be combined with the Green Monday offer.
The Fine Print
- Monday December 11, 2017 only
- Limit of $100 in savings
- Online only
Our Verdict
December 11 is just when the 20%-off coupons from a prior deal ends; pretty awesome season for people doing holiday shopping. $20 off $100 is a bit worse since you have to spend minimum $100 to get any discount, and you’ll lose out on the partial spend (e.g. if you spend $190, you’re much better off with 20% off than $20 off).
Remember to use a shopping portal before online purchases, SimplyBestCoupons seems to be best for Target shopping. Note there are many exclusions in the Target portal, good chance you won’t get anything. If you’re new to a shopping portal, we appreciate when you use our signup links found in this post.
I got the Kindle Fire 10 with this deal this morning. Worked out to the same as the Black Friday price Amazon was offering of 99 dollars. I love this site.
It doesn’t say you have to buy everything in one transaction… so I assume you can make multiple purchases. Also, it it just for one $100 per household? Or can my husband take advantage of it too?
I think you can do it over and over again.
It is per $100 spent- so spend $400 and get $80 off. No reason you would have to make multiple transactions
spoke to online chat, guess ALL GIFTCARDS ARE EXCLUDED, Period.
BUMMER.
So the email I got from Target is titled “Green Monday gift card deal” But gift cards are excluded? I am so confused!
I placed a $112 order during the 15% off Cyber Monday sale. Target just price matched (via chat) and refunded $20 of that to my Discover card.
Geo, how were you able to price match today (12/11) for something you bought on Cyber Monday (11/27)? I just tried and they told me it was past the 14 day window, which according to their rules, it definitely is.
Did you get a “nice” rep via chat who made an exception? Or were you not aware of the 14 day rule?
Must have been a nice rep. I bought something last week that’s still in transit and my rep flat out said no credit, reorder and return the other purchase.

I’ll add that.
Noooo! And here I was about to pull the trigger on the Nintendo Switch. It would have been too good to be true.
Any chance you think that this could be combined with pricematching? I’m reading price match guarantee as:
Cartwheel offers, Target Gift Card offers, Registry completion coupons and Target coupons cannot be combined with price match. Manufacturer coupons will be applied after a price match is made, for store purchases only. Please review our Store Coupon Policy for additional details.
This Green Monday situation doesn’t fall into any of the listed following, right?
The Target 20% coupons expire Dec 10 (NOT the 11th)
“What’s Green Monday, you ask? It refers to the second Monday in December, which has emerged over the last decade as a major online shopping day. In other words, it’s a day when lots of “green” is spent online!…But you can just think of it as Green (in your pocket) Monday when you shop Target.com this year.”
I don’t find the answer as to whether GCs are excluded.
Bought some appliances with the $30 off $300 gift card from a few weeks ago. Just cancelled the orders. How long does the refund take to be put back on my egift card?
