Our Verdict
Yesterday we posted about a similar bonus of 60,000 points on the personal card, and now we have this offer on the Business Platinum. They have also recently offered upgrade offers of up to 75,000 on the business Platinum.
Is the offer worth applying for? If you’ve received a previous offer, value the benefits and are happy to paying the annual fee then yes. If you haven’t received a previous offer, you might be better offer waiting for either a bigger bonus (like 150,000 points) or a smaller minimum spend requirement. No guarantee you’ll see something like that in the near future though.
As always, make sure you read through these things everybody should know about American Express cards before applying.
Hat tip to reader Ngoc
The personal application for Amex cards had the option to have your home address (mailing address) as a PO Box and then put your physical address separately. But the business application has no way to put a PO Box as the home address. Is there a way to get around this?
For personal credit cards, I have mistakenly put my physical address in the home address twice and both times, my applications went into pending and later got a letter to provide proof of address. Amazingly, they sent the letters to the mailing/home address they have on file for me, and not the address in the application.
I didn’t get the email offer, but I have a biz gold account and got an offer to upgrade by logging into Amex for 50,000 points for spending $10,000 in 5 months and another 25,000 points for another $10,000 in spend over those same 5 months.
Although it says it can’t be used by others I thought the business offers can be used by anyone with the link because it’s not associated with any SSN and such. (Would kill for one of these) But thanks so much for being awesome William! Y’all run an amazing blog’
DOC doesn’t reply to me again 🙁
It’s been like 12 hours since you originally asked a question. You need to be far more patient. We get like 400 comments a day, it’s not possible to reply to all of them.
Heehee…Just too eager to get a reply for myself with your good-looking profile picture!
Haha, thanks.

I have this offer……so i can get 100k MR points that i can transfer to affiliate partners (airline or hotels) right?
If i transfer to 1) Emirates or 2) Flying blue or 3)Delta or 4) Krisflyer/Singapore, when will points expire once transferred to any of these 4 flying partners, if i do not have any immediate plan to travel??
Depends on each programs expiration policy
How to find out, about each programs expiration policy?
Just google search “airline name” “expiration”
Question on this card – Do the 5x on flights and 1.5x on large purchases stack? Wondering if you could essentially earn 7.5x on the purchase of an expensive overseas business class flight.
How do you get 7.5 from 5x + 1.5x? I think they do stack and you get 5.5x from memory.
Thinking 1.5x times 5.0x = 7.5x. Or it could be 5.0x + 1.5x = 6.5x. Either way, wondering if they stack
Just 5.5x, not 7.5x or 6.5x. 1x is the base rate and then you get the 4x and 0.5x bonus.
I received this offer but the email does not specify the person who is intended to receive it. Do you think it is safe to apply online or should I call to ensure I will be eligible for the bonus?
If you received the e-mail you should be fine.
I have an email with this subject line and graphics but it has this language in the fine print:
1Welcome bonus offer not available to applicants who have or have had this product. This offer is intended for the email recipient only.

Can you have more than 1 card of same product? meaning you have ccurrent Biz Rewards Gold or Platinum and can still apply and be approved of another card (Gold or Platinum) and have 2 of same cards open with AMEX?
Kindly reconfirm
MR CRUMUDGEON, Care to reply and provide some insight?
AF is $550 now, not $450 like in the post, right?
I think the business card stayed at $450
No, business card is still $450. Doesn’t come with Uber benefit.
