- American Express is offering some cardholders free Hertz Gold Plus Rewards President’s Circle status for six months when they make a booking of $250 or more by 12/31/19
Our Verdict
At first I thought that this was just a free status offer, but you need to make a booking to get the status so really not that useful. If you do end up getting the upgraded status don’t forget to match it to other car rental agencies, read our post on that here.

Primarily directed at Amex Platinum cardholders, but if you have Hilton Gold status (among others), National will match your status to their top tier. From there you can match your National status to status with [pretty much] all other rental car companies, to include Hertz President’s Circle.
