- Some American Express Delta cardholders are being offered 500 MQM & 500 Delta miles for every $1,000 in spend up to $50,000 in spend and an additional 2 delta miles per $1 spent on Delta purchases with no cap
Our Verdict
There is a similar offer for Hilton cardholders as well. How useful this deal is will depend on how you value Delta miles and MQM. MQM do rollover to next year so that’s worth considering. American Express obviously hoping to stimulate some spend on their cards, let’s hope this causes Chase and other card issuers to react.
Got it on my Amex Platinum Business. May be worthwhile given I’ve maxed out my Biz Blue and MQMs are rolling over into 2021. $25K spend would get me 37.5K miles + 22,500 MQM (striking distance of Silver, not worth much but still a good headstart); $50K would be 75K miles + 45K MQM, within striking distance of Gold. That said, akin to giving up $1000+ cash back or better.
Any way to get this as a sign up bonus for opening a new card? Would it be added with a new card signup?
I’m not sure if it’s available for all Delta Gold cardmembers or targeted, but worth a shot checking if you don’t see it listed under AMEX Offers

There isnt any covid bonus spend on Restaurants or Grocery for the Delta cards is there?
I’m not aware of any such offers to replace or continue the 4x at supermarkets promo that expired on 7/31.
I got both offers on my Delta Plat. I think I will move my everyday spend here for the rest of the year from my Vanilla Plat. Its hard to move Restaurants /Grocery spend away form my Gold Card though with that awesome 4x.
