Our Verdict
Seems to be too good to true, I assume they don’t really have anything priced at $200 to make this into a money marker but might be a good discount for anybody considering solar. Just make sure to price compare. There is also a chance this is a mistake and it’s supposed to be spend $400, get $20 back.

I see no products (i.e. panels) you can buy yourself at adtsolar.com. The only option seems to be requesting a quote, which I assume is for a full home install which would cost thousands. If that’s what you want, you’d likely save more just shopping around.
My amex has it: Spend $200 get $400. The margins are probably so high that it doesn’t matter to them that they are giving $200 away.
From what I’ve read on r/solar, ADT is mostly just sales people and everything they do is junk
Do 200 of you want to make $200 on my solar panels? You pay $200 each. I get free solar panels and y’all get $200 each+ points. Win-win.
I’d totally do this but I already have solar panels.
I have a better idea. Pay me $200 and I’ll fly you to Nigeria, where you can get free unlimited solar 24/7 whether you want it or not. Win-win.
Just a click bait from ADT
Cmon people..find something worth 200$…:D
This offer is probably what they intended. I had solar installed on my house last year, and had 5 different quotes. The pricing was wildly ($20k range) different. There is probably so much cushion built into their bids, they are just offering this as an additional $200 off, when they are probably still making thousands on the deal.
FYI, I got a quote from SunPro, the company that ADT acquired, and they were the highest bid, by about $1500. For my system, they were $43k. The system I went with, which is actually bigger than SunPro would have installed, was $26k.
who does your system if you don’t mind?
I installed a large 28 panel array on our (former) house back in 2012. Total cost was around $15K. It surprisingly wasn’t very difficult. The permit process took longer than anything. Completed install over the course of 3 days with one other person helping me.
who gave you the least quote? which company? for last one year I am trying to look for someone who can install for me in NJ but no luck
Might supposed to be a spend $2000, get $400 back offer, considering how often Amex comes up with 20% back offers on hotels and other stuff
