as always what?
Any thoughts on whether this will work on codeshares? For example, a Lufthansa ticket but operated by United. It seems it would, because it is a Lufthansa ticket purchase, but curious about any data points.
Similar airline Amex Offers on my Platinum card for ITA Airways (by 11/30/24, spend $1,000+, get 17,500 MR points) and Cathay Pacific (by 12/31/24, spend $1,000+, get $175 back), likely also targeted. Not planning on visiting Italy or Hong Kong anytime soon, but if I were, I would appreciate those bonuses (in addition to the 5x MR points).
Prices are slightly inflated on amextravel.com which reduces the value of cashback. Still worth it as long as the inflation is not close to the cashback amount
Plat cardholders get up to 15% discount on Premium Economy and Business fares on several airlines and the ticketing happens through Amex Travel. This is a great additional discount on those fares.
*up to 20% (technically)
The ‘International Airline Program’ on Amex travel with the Platinum card usually has good deals, often better than booking directly with the airlines. The savings are often hundreds of dollars for business class tickets, you earn 5x MR points, and status/points with the airline, if applicable. I have saved thousands of dollars with this benefit over the years.
Does anyone know if this will work if you buy the flights with MR? It always actually posts as a transaction when you do.
Depends.
I’ve had it both work and not work. Worked with KLM, didn’t with Delta
