Our Verdict
Nice deal for anybody that has upcoming travel plans with Cathay Pacific, probably not a big enough discount to change booking behavior though.

Would Holiday package (flight + hotel) count?
Got this on all cards. 4/4. No travel plans though!
No go this time, 0/6
Does it work on taxes and fees from award bookings?
I wish there was a Singapore Airlines offer. Best services ever
any idea if it would be worth it to spend a day in Hong Kong? from 6am to 8pm
sure why not
Yes, totally. Go up Victoria Peak and hike around, Star Ferry, meal in Tsim Sha Tsui or happy hour in Lan Kwai Fong and Airport Express back in time for the next flight.
Are you thinking of doing a quick round trip from the US? You’d be spending more than 24 on planes within a two day period.
Oh boy, I assumed they were talking about a long connection and not a round trip from the US for a 14-hour visit! That’s a long flight even in First.
Looks like Asia Miles redemptions excluded. Booking award shows merchant as Asia Miles (not Cathay Pacific).
No desire to fly with them anytime in near future, given the super strict covid rules (Masks/Tests/Quarantine) in that part of the world no thanks!
@Luke What strict covid rules? What part of the world? Where? Vietnam? Cambodia? No. Japan? No. Korea? No. Thailand? No. Philippines? No. Indonesia? No. Australia? No. NZ? No. Europe? No. Malaysia? No. Singapore? No. Taiwan? No.whay part of the world?
Where this airline is based out of and its mother mainland
@Luke You may not realize this but Cathay flies to other countries, like the ones I mentioned.
Teri I’m flying to Japan next week.. do you know if masks are required anywhere? just curious since I randomly saw your comment
just came back from Japan. It’s not required at all but around half of the locals wear them publicly. In taxis, there is a sign that asks you to wear a mask but it’s not enforced
stay at where you are and don’t go anywhere lmao
you living in a rock or what? you still think there’s covid rules to enter HK or asia with the masks, test and quarantine. did covid affect your brain and yourself stuck in 2022 era LOL it’s almost 2024, get with the times.
Any idea how to maximize it for 5 tickets?
