The Offer
No direct link, targeted offer
- Get 500 Membership Rewards points (or $5) when you use your enrolled card to make a single purchase of $35+ at US gas stations by 12/31/19
The Fine Print
- Limit of 1,500 Membership Rewards points or $15
- Excludes online purchases and marina fuel or any type of commercial fuel
Our Verdict
Try to save this on a card that earns at a high rate on gas purchases or a card that already has the 15% offer saved on it.

My offer is $5 off $30 (not $35). Maybe because gas is cheaper in NC?
I have been using Bank Of America Deals and JP Morgan Chase credit card offers for discounts much more than American Express.
The competition opened up. I have a lot of useless American Express offers.
Amex where are you?
The fine print according to DOC says excludes online purchases. What gas station sells gas online???
This isn’t a fuel-only reward.
My BBP has an offer for 500 points for a single purchase of $35+, up to three times, expires 12/31/19. Sweet, since I am also working on the $8500 spend for 8500 points, so this stacks.
I got 15% back, up to $5 total. So $5 for $33.33 spend instead of $35. Weird A/B testing? Nice that I don’t have to hit a minimum though and can spread over multiple purchases.
My (Delta Platinum Business) reads Spend $35+ Get $5 back up to 3x total of $15
And Bonvoy Brilliant reads Get 15% back up to $5.
0/20 🙁
William Charles Fine print section doesn’t match the headline. $5 vs $15
Limit of 3x $5 = $15.
I think 0/9 is becoming a standard for me with a lot of useful and semi-useful Amex offers. Not a big loss for this one as Costco in my area is 20-25% cheaper than an actual gas station, and none of the gas stations in my area sell useful gift card.
I got one for $5 back at Conoco/Phillips 66. Can this stack if you get both on same card?
Why don’t you try it and let us know.
Similar overlapping have worked in the past.
I can confirm it stacks. I got points for both.
I got it stacked with Conoco as well…2 $5 credits hit.
Too bad, I got the offers on 2 different cards
