Update 05/26/18: Try using this link if you weren’t targeted. Let us know if it works in the comments below. Hat tip to reader John K
The Offer
No direct link, targeted offer
- Get 3,500 additional Membership Rewards points one-time by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $300+ on room rate and room charges at Hilton properties by 6/30/2018
- Some people have the same deal, but offering $35 instead of 3,500 Membership Rewards
The Fine Print
- Reservations must be made online at Hilton.com, via the Hilton Honors App or by calling 1-800-445-8667. Offer only valid at Hilton properties in the US & US territories.
- Excludes gift card purchases. Offer does not apply to advance purchase rates, including Advance Purchase, Save Now & Pay and Non-refundable rates.
- Offer only valid on room rate and room charges.
- Offer not valid for stays that are paid for before or after the promotion start and end dates.
Our Verdict
Despite what the fine print states, generally any purchase made at the front desk will work (including things like gift card purchases and other purchases that have been charged to the room). In addition it says that advance purchase won’t work, but if you have a booking that is after 6/30/18 normally you can contact the front desk ahead of time and get them to charge your card and it will also trigger the offer. Obviously no guarantee that any of that will work this time, but it has all worked on similar offers in the past. Hilton deals get better when you stack them, so try these other deals as well:
- Double points until August 31st, 2018
- [YMMV] Hilton: Stay 2/4 Nights Or More & Get 5,000/15,000/25,000 Bonus Points
When you start stacking deals like this, it makes Hilton a much more attractive option.

Recalling the recent Amex offer for $100/10k MR back on $600 prepaid booking through Amex Travel, do any of you clever folk know if Amex Travel has the ability to book cottages and the like? We are looking to make a booking (among others) for a soon-to-be trip to England and are interested in staying at a cottage in a countryside location for a few nights. Using this offer would be nice but I can’t seem to find such properties on Amex’s website.
If they don’t support, I would appreciate your advice on booking this through other portals/sites that yield me some manner of loyalty points. One option I am aware of is cottages.com, and I believe they have some linkage with Wyndham but am unsure. Any others? Sorry to hijack – I can’t find the relevant Amex thread that I thought was posted here recently.
Thanks John K & DOC for the direct link for offer. By using link, offer populated on 3 of 6 cards. Without link, 1 of 6.
Link took me to a page that displays: “this site can’t be reached”
Finally got it to work. Amex Offers seem to be having issues today! Thanks for this tip. I actually have a business trip with multiple rooms at a Hilton this week. Great timing.
what’s up with “Offer does not apply to advance purchase rates, including Advance Purchase, Save Now & Pay and Non-refundable rates”? so the reservation has to be honors discount or flexible rate? guess i’ll stick to spg/marriott.
Read the whole post 🙂 I’d be surprised if it didn’t work for any Hilton front desk charge of >$300

No way this will work if I book through my travel portal at work? Darn staying at a hilton next week.

Link works… thanks as always… have a blessed day!!
Not targeted on both amex cards and when I tried the link: Sorry about that! The offer you selected is not available for this Card.
And just checked out of a Doubletree yesterday 🙁
“Sorry about that! The offer you selected is not available for this Card.” (same message for all AMEX cards).
Did see a $50 back on $250 Omni that I hadn’t noticed before. Consolation prize, I suppose.
