Our Verdict
This always hits the enrollment limit quickly, so save this as fast as you can.  Try to save this on a card that earns at a high rate on office supply stores if you can. There is a Staples giftcard deal at the moment.
Does it work if you purchase target gift card for exactly $100 (one gift card) in store?
No love from Amex for us lately. Nothing on SimpleCash, Blue Cash Everyday, or Hilton.
I think this one is on Amex business cards only.
SimpleCash is business.
On my amex bbp card.
Got it only on my business cards. Immediately triggered buying a target gift card on the website. Thanks!
Did the same. Received Amex email right away
Nice. Got it on my Marriott Biz card. Bought a Digital Southwest Airlines gift card and triggered it.
Dope, got it on my SCB.
Thanks, got it on a BB+.
Thanks. Got the offer on both my SimplyCash cards.
1) Can I split payment in-store at checkout?
2) Can I pay in-store with PayPal at checkout?
If yes to both, I’ll buy the $200 fee free Visa GC, pay $100 with the Amex ($25 back) and pay $100 with PayPal+PayPal Mastercard (4%+3% back)
1) yes. I actually split payment 4 ways recently on a $200 gc because of all those chase $50 staples offers.
2) I don’t know, but I’m guessing so.
Yes, in theory you can do this. Everyone splits between 2 (or more) credit cards all the time. As for splitting between a credit card and paypal, I’ve never tried that.
Depends on a manager. Some of them are pretty suspicious about splitting, for some wacky reason.
Does this work on specialty gift cards?
In store it works on anything.
Doesn’t AMEX claw back if you buy gift cards? Or does that only apply to MR points and SUB’s?
Just SUBs
