[Expired] [Targeted] AmEx Offer: US Supermarkets, Get 10% Back Up To $15

Deal has ended, view more grocery stores deals by clicking here.

The Offer

No direct link, targeted offer

  • Get 10% back as a statement credit by using your enrolled eligible Card to make purchases in-store or online at US supermarkets 9/13/2024. Limit of $15 back in total statement credits

The Fine Print

  • Offer valid for in-store and online eligible purchases at U.S. Supermarkets.
  • “Supermarket” means a standalone merchant in the U.S. primarily selling supermarket products.
  • Excludes gasoline purchases and gift card purchases.
  • Specialty Food Stores, Superstores, Convenience Stores, Small Corner Grocery Stores, and Warehouse Clubs are not considered Supermarket stores.
  • Excludes pharmacy and indoor vendor purchases such as coffee shops and restaurants.

Our Verdict

Should be super useful to most people. I’d recommend checking and saving ASAP to avoid this hitting the enrollment cap before you get the chance.

Did not get usual e-mal notice after purchase and credit/redemption did not appear on website for over a week. Finally after a week and a half I see on Amex site that redemption registered (although no e-mail or credit yet).

I just received the email bonus confirmation after purchasing $300 vanilla visa gift card + $3 food item. The offer was $5/$50 up to 6 times ($30). I will report if $30 bonus all come in at once. Fortunately, the vanilla gift card worked for my county property tax payment. I remember the vanilla visa gift card worked only on PayUSAtax not anywhere else.

When users are able to trigger the reward credit by buying gift cards to hit the minimum spend amount, does it matter if the gift card is for the same supermarket / different retailer / or a generic visa prepaid gift card? For example, if I’m at Whole Foods do I need to buy a Whole Foods specific gift card that can only be used at Whole Foods to trigger the reward? Or can I buy a generic Visa gift card so that I can spend it later at Costco?
