Our Verdict
Nice discount if you shop at Whole Foods. Amazon One requires your palm print, so not worth it for some people.

DP: Just checking out with the card (not using Amazon One) triggers the offer. I did this yesterday and got one of the “Congrats you used your offer.” I didn’t expect to trigger it and had forgotten I’d added it to the card – I just paid with ApplePay as usual. No way am I scanning my palm for them.
Did you set up Amazon One and link your Amex card to the profile? (Even though, you did not use Amazon One at checkout?
I’m your huckleberry… normal checkout w standard AX offer selection only triggered email.
My PALM print? WTH Amazon???

Would it have killed you to say what this actually is? It’s giving Amazon your entire palm print for $10 off at Whole Foods
Sorry I assumed people knew. I’ve made the post clearer
only time I ever darken the door of Whole Foods is a. when I need to do an in person Azn return, or b. when my “whole” wallet needs air let out of the tires… (Oh, I get it, it’s a high end status thing of a lot of my very overpaid colleagues & wealthy students, the image of “quality” — and 50% more at least for the privilege.) So a 20% discount, if I wanted to do an Amazon whatever, no thanks.
they sell third party GCs including Amazon. 20% discount on 3rd party GCs is as good as it gets.
$10 for your palmprint?
Donut for a jab?
Gift card for your guns?
Waiting for a better amex offer, $20 for soul.
WTF is Amazon One?
After Googling: it’s the biometric pay by palm thing. Meh.
It’s nice, convenient…until you have a better deal on another card temporarily (e.g. Chase freedom quarterly 5%) at which point you are back to whipping out your wallet.
Or you could update the card you use for Amazon One to your Chase Freedom for that quarter. You can change the card you use for Amazon One whenever you want. You can’t use prepaid or gift cards though.
Any idea if it codes as both groceries and online? Could be very useful for the Sears card offers.
The MCC code will be for supermarkets.
