Our Verdict
We’ve seen this offer in the past as well. Useful deal if you have upcoming Delta bookings.
I booked a $410 flight through AmexTravel for Delta, it triggered both the $100/400 AmexTravel+Delta offer and also the pure $100/400 Delta offer. Weird but I’ll take it.
How long does it take for the credit to appear? Its been several days and still no credit
Wondering the same thing. I bought a couple weeks ago, got the email saying I used the offer, it now shows as pending, but no $100. Statement has closed. I chatted with Amex and they said wait 90 days from the end of the offer (3/31/2022) and contact them if it has not posted by that time.
I booked a flight thru amex travel and then contacted delta to cancel to convert it to a ecredit for future use.
maybe that’s why mine didn’t work i went to AmexTrael.com as the article said
…
in seriousness for once, is there any expiration on the ecredit?
Delta has flexible bookings. I wonder if you could book and then get a voucher just to lock in a $400 voucher for $300.
This is via Amex Travel only. Amex Travel policies would apply, not Delta’s
Are you sure? In my experience with other airlines AmexTravel just gives you a booking reference number and then you can do whatever you want. That’s with a few international airlines though.
You can absolutely cancel Delta flights for an ecredit after you book with Amex Travel. As I mentioned below, though, be aware that Amex Travel is alerted of this activity. I didn’t have issues with the Amex offer being clawed back, but it’s always uncertain what Amex decides to get crabby about.
I did exactly this with the previous Amex Travel offer but would be hesitant to do it again. Apparently amex travel can see that you’ve cancelled and this seems like the sort of thing that can piss amex off. I’d at least hold off on cancelling for a while/ book way out in the future so it’s not suspicious.
