- Pharmacies, supermarkets, warehouse clubs and superstores are not considered office supply stores.
Our Verdict
I’m sure this is valid at Staples and Office Depot/Max. Obviously a terrific offer even if you don’t need office supplies from those stores since they sell a large variety of gift cards, including Visa and Amazon, making it easy to take advantage of this deal. Offer is even available online, and staples.com sells a wide variety of gift cards, including $300 and $200 Visa gift cards.
Offer seems to be highly targeted, unfortunately. Stacks beautifully with the $25 off $100 Amex Offer if you have them both on the same card. Also works with the bonus Membership Reward deal at Staples if you have them both on the same card.

Thanks again to DOC. It appears my Gold biz card has the Staples/office “deal trifecta” with all 3 offers that can be stacked together.
not on any of my 4 Biz cards between wife and me. BUT on my BCP card. Weird. language states to “use this on offer on your enrolled biz card”. But it enrolled me in offer anyway. Weird.
Each of my family of 4 got on our personal HH card as well. Would it work?

but I know Amex get L#3data..thats excluded for SUB..but are these offers ok? Dont see it in the fine print and I have done this before and got the cash back…but are they cracking down?
got the email today stating I qualified for 25.00 back using the BCPref. Fine print only stated no app. if buying Gc in bulk. Bought a 200.00 VGC from Staples with no fee this am.

I had it on my Blue Business Plus card. Here are the Offer Terms:
OFFER TERMS
Must first add offer to Card and then use same Card to redeem. Only U.S.-issued American Express® Business Cards are eligible. Limit 1 enrolled Card per Card Member across all American Express offer channels. Your enrollment of an eligible American Express Card for this offer extends only to that Card. Offer valid for in-store and online purchases at US office supply stores. “Office supply stores” are in the business of selling a range of office supplies including items like paper, notebooks, office equipment (e.g. fax machines and printers) and office furniture (e.g. desks, desk chairs, and filing cabinets). Excludes supplies purchased at other retail stores. Pharmacies, supermarkets, warehouse clubs and superstores are not considered office supply stores. Offer is non-transferable. Limit of $40 in total statement credits per Card Member. The enrolled Card account must not be cancelled or past due to receive statement credits. Any benefit earned from this offer is in addition to the rewards (i.e. Membership Rewards or cash back) earned as part of your existing Card benefits, but your ability to earn spend-based rewards for the purchase will be based on the amount after any statement credit or other discount is applied. Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 12/31/2019, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase. Note that American Express may not receive information about your qualifying purchase from merchant until all items from your qualifying purchase have been provided/shipped by merchant. Statement credit may be reversed if qualifying purchase is returned/cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your transaction as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the statement credit. For example, your transaction will not qualify if it is not made directly with the merchant. Merchants are assigned codes based on what they primarily sell. Your transaction also will not qualify if the merchant’s code is not eligible. In addition, in most cases, you may not receive the statement credit if your transaction is made with an electronic wallet or through a third party or if the merchant uses a mobile or wireless card reader to process it. By adding an offer to a Card, you agree that American Express may send you communications about the offer.
