Update 9/9/23: Available again in the Apple Card section of the Apple wallet

The Offer
Check your email for the following offer on Apple Card:
- When you add a Co-Owner to your Apple Card account by February 6, 2023, they’ll receive $100 Daily Cash when they spend $100 in their first 30 days.
- A Co-Owner can be a spouse, partner, or someone else you trust. The two of you share equal benefits and responsibilities for the account. Adding a Co-Owner allows you to build credit as equals and gain access to a combined credit limit. You both can view and manage the account making it easy to track your family spend in one place.
Look for email subject: Add a Co-Owner and they get $100 Daily Cash when they spend $100 for a limited time
Our Verdict
Nice and easy $100 moneymaker for those targeted. Not sure how widely this was sent out. The downside is that authorized users show up on the credit report and take a bit of convincing for Chase to not count them in your 5/24.
Hat tip to TheJohnWickening and uscreditcardstrategy
I have it in my Apple Wallet app. Spend has been $1/month.
are apple card co-owners considered authorized users for 5/24? Also because this offer isn’t to add an authorized user, it’s to add a co-owner, the term ‘authorized user’ really should be removed from the verdict imo
co-owners are 100% responsible for the full balance on the card, even if you don’t make the charges
The Apple Card is issued by Goldman Sachs, so I don’t see why it would affect 5/24 with Chase
Do you know what 5/24 means? It doesn’t just apply to Chase if you open any account with another lender or Chase it impacts your approval with chase CC’s. unless you meant to work it another way and it came off incorrectly
there’s also $25 for up to 4 AUs
Chuck I’m seeing this offer promoted again directly in the Apple Card section of the Apple wallet
I just got an email from Apple staying if I apple for an Apple Card and spend $1000 in 3 months, I get $150.
Just messaged Apple and they said if I try to add a joint user that would result into hard pull for him and me. If that’s true, not worth it IMO.
looks like a hard pull for co owner. Not sure if its worthy
What!!? Bummer! Definitely not worthy!
I’m targeted! Anyone know if I add someone with no SSN?
They need to have SSN and apparently it is a hard pull. Not worth it really.
Yeah. All my cards can add an Authorized user without a hard pull and I don’t even need a SSN
Called to confirm it only applies to joint cards – adding a participant (AU) doesn’t qualify
Also does not work for existing cardholders that want to merge into one card:
Not valid for existing Apple Card users who merge their Apple Card accounts to become Co-Owners with other existing Apple Card users. For clarity, any spend by Apple Card Family Participants and existing Co-Owners does not qualify toward the $100 threshold.
Did not get this offer from Apple. I would have added my wife.
A co-owner has joint ownership and liability. Once made a co-owner, the only way to remove someone is to *close* the co-owned account. There is no going back to an individually owned account per the T&Cs.
